Inleiding
Vrijstaande STADSVILLA. Het pand werd gebouwd in 1904. De toegepaste bouwstijl is traditionalistisch met elementen Eclecticisme.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaande STADSVILLA op L-vormige plattegrond in twee bouwlagen plus souterrain en dakverdieping. Het pand wordt afgedekt met een gebroken schilddak gedekt met leien in schubdekking en mulden pannen. Achthoekig torentje aan rechterzijgevel gedekt met leien en bekroond met lantaarn. Geprofileerde dakgoot op houten klossen.
Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is baksteen met metselwerk in kruisverband. Gevels met natuurstenen speklagen en dorpels. Vensters en deuren deels met natuurstenen aanzetstenen.
Rechthoekige, segment- en rondboogvormige vensters. Houten deuren en kozijnen. Bovenlichten met glas-in-lood. Vulstukken met decoratief metselwerk.
Asymmetrische indeling FRONTGEVEL. Rechterdeel frontgevel vooruitspringend en uitlopend in een topgevelachtige dakkapel met zadeldakje. In eerste bouwlaag vooruitspringend geveldeel een driedelig rechthoekig venster, in de tweede bouwlaag twee smalle rechthoekige vensters. Onder de dakrand boogfriezen.
In het rechterdeel van het terugliggende frontgeveldeel de entree in een portaal met rondboog en met toegangstrap. Op dit portaal een balkon met gietijzeren leuning. Onder de dakrand boogfriezen. Voor het linkerdeel van het terugliggende frontgeveldeel een bordes met balustrade met vierkante kolommen.
Rechterdeel RECHTERZIJGEVEL vooruitspringend met in de oksel van dit geveldeel en het terugliggende geveldeel een achthoekig torentje met drie bouwlagen. In de frontgevel eerste bouwlaag een deur met toegangstrap.
Erfscheiding bestaande uit bakstenen muurtje met enkele bakstenen kolommen. Tussen de kolommen een smeedijzeren hekwerk.
Het interieur is grotendeels in tact hetgeen onder meer blijkt uit de structuur van vertrekken, gangen en overige ruimten.
Waardering
De stadsvilla aan de Akerstraat bezit architectuurhistorische waarde wegens de hoogwaardige esthetische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp, het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek.
De villa bezit ensemblewaarde als essentieel onderdeel van de bebouwing aan de Akerstraat die als geheel van belang is voor de ontwikkeling en het aanzien van dit deel van Heerlen.
De stadsvilla is tenslotte van algemeen belang wegens de architectonische gaafheid van exterieur en de architectuurhistorische zeldzaamheid.

Detached TOWN VILLA on L-shaped floor plan in two storeys plus basement and attic storey. The building is covered with a hipped roof clad with slate in shingle-pattern and barrel tiles. Octagonal turret on the right side gable clad with slate and crowned with a lantern. Moulded roof gutter on wooden brackets.
The building material applied is brickwork in header-and-stretcher bond. Facades with natural stone specklayers and lintels. Windows and doors partly with natural stone ashlars.
Rectangular, segmental and round-arched windows. Wooden doors and frames. Fanlights with leaded glass. Filler pieces with decorative brickwork.
Asymmetrical arrangement of the FRONT FACADE. Right section of front facade projecting and terminating in a stepped-gable-like roof dormer with small gabled roof. On the first storey the projecting facade section contains a three-part rectangular window, on the second storey two narrow rectangular windows. Below the roof edge arched friezes.
In the right section of the recessed front facade section the entrance in a portal with round arch and with entrance steps. On this portal a balcony with cast-iron railing. Below the roof edge arched friezes. In front of the left section of the recessed front facade section a platform with balustrade with square columns.
Right section of RIGHT SIDE FACADE projecting with in the corner of this facade section and the recessed facade section an octagonal turret with three storeys. In the front facade first storey a door with entrance steps.
