Inleiding
Twee STALLEN behorend bij Boerderij Imstenrade. De stallen werden omstreeks 1910 gebouwd. De bouwstijl is traditionalistisch.
De stallen werden gebouwd in opdracht van dhr. F. Schepens, de scheepsreder die tevens opdracht gaf voor de bouw van de Villa Imstenrade.
Omschrijving
Twee stallen op een rechthoekige plattegrond. De stallen staan evenwijdig ten opzichte van elkaar en haaks ten opzichte van het woonhuisgedeelte van de boerderij. De stallen tellen een bouwlaag en worden afgedekt met een zadeldak met Tuiles du Nord. Dakoverstek op houten consoles. Diverse kleine dakkapellen. Gecementeerde plint. Optrek in baksteen. Metselwerk in kruisverband. Speklagen. Rechthoekige houten poorten. Segmentboogvormige vensters De stal aan de STRAATZIJDE. In de kopgevel een houten poort met aan weerszijden een venster. In de topgevel een rondboogvormig houten zolderluik. Aan weerszijden van het luik een venster. Aan de bovenzijde van het luik een kleine ronde opening. In de zijgevels twee geveldelen uitlopend in een topgevel. Deze geveldelen in de eerste bouwlaag een houten poort met hierboven een houten luik. In beide zijgevels segmentboogvormige stalvensters.
Stal verder op het erf. In de kopgevel een rechthoekige houten poort en een uitbouw in een bouwlaag met lessenaarsdak. In de topgevel drie ronde openingen in een hardstenen omlijsting. Dak met wolfseinde. Aan de zuidelijke zijgevel diverse aanbouwen deels van recenter datum.
De structuur van het INTERIEUR is beperkt in tact.
Waardering
Beide stallen bezitten cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en typologische ontwikkeling. Architectuurhistorische waarde ontlenen de objecten aan het bijzondere belang voor de bovenregionale geschiedenis van de architectuur en wegens de bijzondere ornamentiek. De beide stallen zijn tevens stilistisch van belang: vanwege de behouden authenticiteit en het toegepaste streekeigen bouwmateriaal en als markant voorbeelden van landelijke bouwkunst.
De objecten bezitten ensemblewaarde als essentieel onderdeel van een groter complex dat cultuurhistorisch van belang is. Two stables on a rectangular ground plan. The stables stand parallel to each other and perpendicular to the residential section of the farmhouse. The stables have one storey and are covered with a gabled roof with Tuiles du Nord. Roof overhang on wooden consoles. Various small roof dormers. Cemented plinth. Brickwork exterior. Brickwork laid in alternating bond. Speckled coursing. Rectangular wooden doors. Segmental-arched windows. The stable on the STREET SIDE. In the gable end a wooden door with on either side a window. In the top gable a round-arched wooden loft door. On either side of the door a window. At the upper side of the door a small round opening. In the side facades two facade sections terminating in a top gable. These facade sections on the first storey have a wooden door with above it a wooden shutter. In both side facades segmental-arched stable windows.
Stable further back in the yard. In the gable end a rectangular wooden door and an extension with one storey and shed roof. In the top gable three round openings in a stone surround. Roof with half-hipped end. On the southern side facade various outbuildings partly of more recent date.
The structure of the INTERIOR is limited in intact condition.
Valuation
Both stables possess cultural-historical value as distinctive expressions of a socio-economic and typological development. Architectural-historical value is derived from the particular importance for the supra-regional history of architecture and due to the distinctive ornamentation. Both stables are furthermore of stylistic significance: due to the retained authenticity and the applied regional building material and as striking examples of rural architecture.
