Waardering

Valuation
The former miners' dwellings are of cultural-historical value as a special expression of a socio-economic and typological development. The buildings were specifically designed for the miners entirely fitting within the hierarchical structure applicable for this. The large gardens belonging to the buildings served not only for recreation but also for the cultivation of their own vegetables.
The buildings possess architectural-historical value because of the special importance for the history of working-class housing.
The buildings derive ensemble value from their situation within a complex of a total of twenty dwellings on gently sloping terrain and of importance for the appearance of this part of Hoensbroek while the presence of gardens (as a reminder of the specific provisions for miners) is considered of historical significance. The buildings are of general importance because of the reasonable degree of architectural integrity of the exterior and the high degree of architectural-historical and typological rarity, furthermore the buildings are of a special age.
