Bakstenen, vrijstaande directeurswoning uit 1920-1921 naar ontwerp van Jan Stuyt.
Omschrijving
Tweelaagse, bakstenen villa (1920-1921) ter hoogte van twee bouwlagen onder een gebroken schilddak gedekt met leien en voorzien van dakkapellen. De plattegrond is - globaal - een rechthoek. Plint van Kunradersteen, raamomlijstingen, geblokte pilasters en fries van Maastrichts krijt. De villa is uitgerust met o.a. serre, balkon en fietsenstalling; de voordeur heeft een fronton en is omlijst. Inwendig bleef de oorspronkelijke hoofdindeling behouden, o.a. een centrale hal met houten trap, vensters met glas-in-lood. Voorts stucwerk in de vertrekken; keuken met terrazzo-vloer en deels met oorspronkelijke betegeling.
Waardering
De villa voor de directeur is van algemeen belang wegens de architectuurhistorische betekenis als proeve van architect Jan Stuyt en als structureel en representatief gebouwtype binnen het ensemble van de voormalige vroedvrouwenschool; voorts is het object zowel uit- als inwendig gaaf behouden gebleven en dient de villa als een karakteristiek voorbeeld van het voorname wonen uit de periode van het Interbellum.

Description
Two-storey brick villa (1920-1921) with a height of two storeys under a broken hipped roof covered with slate and provided with roof dormers. The floor plan is - broadly - a rectangle. Plinth of Kunrader stone, window surrounds, rusticated pilasters and frieze of Maastricht chalk. The villa is equipped with among other things a conservatory, balcony and bicycle shed; the front door has a pediment and is framed. Internally the original main layout was retained, including a central hall with wooden staircase, windows with stained glass. Furthermore stuccowork in the rooms; kitchen with terrazzo flooring and partly with original tiling.
Valuation
The director's villa is of general importance due to its architectural-historical significance as a work by architect Jan Stuyt and as a structural and representative building type within the complex of the former midwifery school; moreover the object has been well preserved both externally and internally and the villa serves as a characteristic example of distinguished residential living from the Interbellum period.
