Inleiding
Het KOETSHUIS hoort bij het agrarische complex in het centrum van Ried, aan de Hoofdstraat 2. Het koetshuis is tegen de achtergevel van het voorhuis van de boerderij geplaatst en naar het noordoosten georiënteerd. Het koetshuis is later gebouwd dan de boerderij -rond 1900- in een stijl die decoratieve elementen vertoont die karakteristiek zijn voor de stijl van de Art Nouveau (zie omschrijving). Tegen de achtergevel van het koetshuis, in de hoek met de achtergevel van het voorhuis, is er een houten aanbouw die niet oorspronkelijk is en niet in aanmerking komt voor de bescherming van rijkswege.
Omschrijving
Het koetshuis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en is één bouwlaag hoog. Het wordt door een zadeldak met zwarte Hollandse pannen gedekt. De gevels zijn in hout opgetrokken en steunen op een bakstenen voet. De voorgevel is in het midden voorzien van een houten inrijdeur met vier kleine verticale vensters met gietijzeren roosters. De top wordt versierd door een keperlijst waarboven een halfrond venster met metalen roedeverdeling is aangebracht. De onderrand van de windveer, die tussen de daklijst vóór de topgevel is geplaatst, volgt de ronding van het achterliggende venster en wordt aan de onderkant door een keperlijst versierd. Een omgedraaide makelaar siert de frontonafsluiting met gesegmenteerde lijst. De zuidoostelijke zijgevel grenst aan de achtergevel van het voorhuis.
De noordwestelijke zijgevel heeft in het midden een half rond venster met metalen roedeverdeling.

The CARRIAGE HOUSE belongs to the agricultural complex in the centre of Ried, at Hoofdstraat 2. The carriage house is placed against the rear facade of the front house of the farmstead and is oriented towards the northeast. The carriage house was built later than the farmstead - around 1900 - in a style that displays decorative elements characteristic of the Art Nouveau style (see description). Against the rear facade of the carriage house, in the corner with the rear facade of the front house, there is a wooden extension that is not original and does not qualify for national monument protection.
Description
The carriage house has a rectangular plan and is one storey high. It is covered by a gabled roof with black Dutch tiles. The facades are constructed in wood and rest on a brick base. The front facade is provided in the middle with a wooden carriage entrance with four small vertical windows with cast-iron grilles. The top is decorated by a herringbone moulding above which a semicircular window with metal glazing bars has been placed. The lower edge of the weather vane, which is placed between the roof cornice in front of the gable, follows the curve of the window behind it and is decorated at the bottom by a herringbone moulding. An inverted modillion adorns the gable apex with segmented moulding. The southeastern side facade borders the rear facade of the front house.
The northwestern side facade has a semicircular window with metal glazing bars in the middle.
