Inleiding
Sober vormgegeven WOONHUIS in ambachtelijk-traditionele stijl uit het begin van de twintigste eeuw. Het pand ligt direct aan de verharding van de weg op een langgerekte kavel grond, die aan de achterzijde aan de Murk grenst. Het is in 1911 opgebouwd op de fundamenten van de woning die er voorheen stond, in opdracht van W. de Boer te Oudkerk. Met de uitvoering was S. Postma uit Giekerk belast. Oorspronkelijk bestond de rentenierswoning uit een voorhuis met grote schuur. De schuur is omstreeks 1990 ingestort. Aan de achterzijde van het pand bevindt zich nu een aankapping met een nieuw opgetrokken gevel.
Omschrijving
De RENTENIERSWONING is vijf traveeën breed en is opgetrokken in roodbruine baksteen. Het schilddak is aan de voor- en zijkanten gedekt met zwarte geglazuurde Friese golfpannen en aan de achterzijde met zwarte geglazuurde Hollandse pannen; gemetselde kajuit met openslaande vensters aan de voorzijde en een ijzeren roosvenster aan de zijkanten; twee schoorstenen met kappen. Aan de bovenzijde der gevels een kroonlijst; sierankers. In het midden van de voorgevel is een dubbele paneeldeur met bovenlicht; aan elke zijde twee T-vensters. De zijgevels hebben eenzelfde venster en een kelderraam. Vensters en deur staan onder strek; een roosvenster in de zuidelijke zijgevel.
Het INTERIEUR is betrekkelijk gaaf met onder andere originele paneeldeuren, balkenplafonds, schouw en bedsteden-kastenwand in de voorkamer.
Waardering
De rentenierswoning uit 1911 is van algemeen architectuur- en cultuurhistorisch belang:
- als regionaal typerend voorbeeld van een rentenierswoning;
- vanwege de redelijke mate van gaafheid van het exterieur;
- vanwege de redelijk hoge mate van gaafheid van het interieur;
- vanwege de beeldbepalende ligging midden in het dorp aan de belangrijkste doorgaande weg;

Introduction
Soberly designed DWELLING HOUSE in craft-traditional style from the early twentieth century. The property is situated directly on the roadway on an elongated plot of land, which at the rear borders on the Murk. It was built in 1911 on the foundations of the house that previously stood there, commissioned by W. de Boer of Oudkerk. The execution was entrusted to S. Postma from Giekerk. Originally the annuitant's dwelling consisted of a front house with large barn. The barn collapsed around 1990. At the rear of the property there is now an extension with a newly constructed gable.
Description
The ANNUITANT'S DWELLING is five bays wide and is constructed in reddish-brown brick. The hipped roof is covered on the front and sides with black glazed Frisian curved tiles and on the rear with black glazed Dutch tiles; mortared dormer with opening windows at the front and an iron vent window on the sides; two chimneys with caps. At the top of the gables a cornice; ornamental wall anchors. In the centre of the front gable is a double panel door with fanlight; on each side two T-windows. The side gables have the same window and a basement window. Windows and door stand under lintel; a vent window in the southern side gable.
The INTERIOR is relatively intact with among others original panel doors, beam ceilings, mantelpiece and bed-cupboard wall in the front room.
Valuation
The annuitant's dwelling from 1911 is of general architectural and cultural-historical significance:
- as a regionally typical example of an annuitant's dwelling;
- because of the reasonable degree of integrity of the exterior;
- because of the reasonably high degree of integrity of the interior;
- because of the image-determining location in the middle of the village on the main thoroughfare;
- in relation to the visual integrity of the village townscape.
