Omschrijving
GEBOUW voor Christelijke Belangen gebouwd in 1924, met elementen uit de Interbellumstijl. Met de uitvoering was belast J.D. Schuilenga uit Surhuisterveen. Het pand met rechthoekig grondplan is opgetrokken in roodbruine bakstenen onder een zadeldak met wolfseind aan de achterzijde, gedekt met zwarte platte Friese golfpannen; strakke windveren aan de voorzijde. Een expressief element in het verder sober vormgegeven gebouw vormt het torentje naast de voorzijde, iets teruggelegen. De toren staat onder een tentdak dat op vier ronde grindbetonnen pijlers staat; zinken piron. Doorlopend boogfries van decoratief metselwerk; een grindbetonnen gevelband verbindt toren en voorgevel visueel met elkaar. De entree van het gebouw is in de toren. De voorgevel van het gebouw wordt gedomineerd door een vierdelig raam, met bovenin drie horizontale roeden; boven de middelste twee raamdelen een halfrond bovenlicht met rastervormige tracering; een rollaag met muizetanddecoratie en een sluitsteen van grindbeton omsluit de boogvorm. Aan de achterzijde een vernieuwde verlenging van het gebouw.

Description
BUILDING for Christian Causes built in 1924, with elements from the Interbellum style. J.D. Schuilenga from Surhuisterveen was responsible for the execution. The building with rectangular ground plan is constructed in reddish-brown brick under a gabled roof with half-hipped end at the rear, covered with black flat Frisian curved tiles; taut roof cresting at the front. An expressive element in the otherwise soberly designed building is formed by the small tower beside the front facade, set slightly back. The tower stands under a pyramid roof that rests on four round grindconcrete pillars; zinc finial. Continuous arched frieze of decorative brickwork; a grindconcrete facade band visually connects tower and front facade with each other. The entrance of the building is in the tower. The front facade of the building is dominated by a four-part window, with three horizontal glazing bars at the top; above the middle two window sections a semicircular fanlight with grid-form tracery; a roll moulding with dogtooth decoration and a voussoir of grindconcrete encloses the arched form. At the rear an updated extension of the building.
