Inleiding
DIENSTWONING is gebouwd in 1910 in een Traditioneel Ambachtelijke stijl. De dienstwoning maakt deel uit van het complex van dienstgebouwen bij de watertoren aan de dijk in Lekkerkerk.

Eénlaags, deels onderkelderde, DIENSTWONING heeft een vrijwel rechthoekige plattegrond en is vanaf een gepleisterde plint opgetrokken in gele baksteen onder een met rode Tuile du Nordpannen gedekt wolfsdak. De vensters van het pand hebben achtruits bovenlichten onder hanekammen. De voorgevel (noord) heeft links een inspringende hoek met de entree en een venster. De dakschilden worden gedragen door een korbeel. In de voorgevel bevinden zich op de begane grond twee vensters en op de verdieping een kleiner venster. In de rechter zijgevel (west) zijn drie vensters geplaatst. De achtergevel gaat schuil achter een aanbouw onder een lessenaarsdak. De linker zijgevel is nagenoeg blind.
Waardering
De dienstwoning is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architctuurhistorische waarde als illustratie van een stadium in de ontwikkeling van de drinkwatervoorziening in Nederland in het algemeen en die van de Krimpenerwaard in het bijzonder. Het is een karakteristiek voorbeeld van een bij een utilitair complex behorende dienstwoning uit het begin van de 20ste eeuw, vormgegeven in een Ambachtelijk Traditionele bouwstijl. Het pand is vrij gaaf in hoofdvorm, materiaalgebruik en detaillering. De dienstwoning heeft ensemblewaarde doordat het deel uitmaakt van een complex, bestaande uit functioneel en situationeel aan elkaar gerelateerde panden en is beeldbepalend gelegen aan de dijk tussen Krimpen aan den Lek en Lekkerkerk.

Description
One-storey, partly basement service house has an almost rectangular plan and is built from a rendered plinth in yellow brick under a half-hipped roof covered with red Tuile du Nord tiles. The windows of the building have eight-light fanlights under cresting. The front elevation (north) has on the left a recessed angle with the entrance and a window. The roof overhangs are supported by a corbel. In the front elevation on the ground floor there are two windows and on the upper floor a smaller window. In the right side elevation (west) three windows are placed. The rear elevation is concealed behind an extension under a catslide roof. The left side elevation is virtually blank.
Valuation
The service house is of general importance because of its cultural and architectural-historical value as an illustration of a stage in the development of drinking water provision in the Netherlands in general and that of the Krimpenerwaard in particular. It is a characteristic example of a service house belonging to a utilitarian complex from the early 20th century, designed in an Artisanal Traditional building style. The building is reasonably intact in main form, use of materials and detailing. The service house has ensemble value because it forms part of a complex consisting of functionally and situationally related properties and is prominent in appearance, located on the dike between Krimpen aan den Lek and Lekkerkerk.
