Inleiding
In oorsprong was het mogelijk een buitenplaats, die echter al lang bekend staat als hofstede onder de naam "Ringgraaf". Het betreft een in de Achthovenpolder gesitueerde veeboerderij van het type halleboerderij met voerdeel, die kenmerkend is voor de ontwikkeling van de boerderijbouw in Rijnland. De huidige boerderij is in 1886 gebouwd in opdracht van de familie Van Zwieten, nadat de voorganger van de hoeve door brand grotendeels was verwoest. Een als zomerhuis gebouwde dwarsvleugel en een groot deel van het bedrijfsgedeelte van het hoofdvolume zijn restanten van de verbrande boerderij.
Op het achtererf staat een als VARKENSSTAL gebouwde vrijstaande schuur. De bouwstijl van de omstreeks 1925 gebouwde sober vormgegeven schuur is te omschrijven als Ambachtelijk-Traditioneel.
Omschrijving
Vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond, in schone baksteen boven een trasraam opgetrokken schuur staat onder een met golfplaat gedekt zadeldak. De symmetrische naar de andere onderdelen van het complex gerichte, onder een uitkraging van de kap staande oostelijk kopgevel, is voorzien van onder betonnen lateien staande deuren met boven- en onderdeur en een groot zolderluik onder een houten latei. In de zijgevels onder betonnen lateien staande luiken en getoogde venster hebben ventilatiedorpels in de betonnen ramen. Het inwendige van de stal is in vrijwel oorspronkelijke staat bewaard gebleven.
Waardering
De bij de boerderij 'Ringgraaf' behorende als varkensstal gebouwde schuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een dergelijk bouwtype uit het begin van de 20ste eeuw is vormgegeven in een Traditioneel Ambachtelijke bouwtrant. De schuur is van belang vanwege de herkenbaarheid en de gaafheid van het exterieur en delen van het interieur. De schuur heeft ensemblewaarde vanwege de sterke ruimtelijke en functionele samenhang met de boerderij en de overige complexonderdelen en makt als zondanig deel uitmaakt van een waardevolle boerderijenstrook langs de Rijn.

Originally it may have been a country estate, but it has long been known as a farmstead under the name "Ringgraaf".
