Inleiding
Voormalig STOOMGEMAAL in eclectische trant, gebouwd in 1873 door de aannemer P. Wilius te Anna Paulowna. Het gemaal ligt ten westen van de Van Ewijcksvaart en is eenvoudig en functioneel van opzet. Het gemaal is dankzij moderne technische ingrepen nu in bedrijf als electrisch gemaal.
Omschrijving
Het gemaal is samengesteld uit twee rechthoekige, gekoppelde bouwmassa's onder een samenstel van met grijze pannen gedekte zadeldaken, bestaande uit één bouwlaag, met ter linkerzijde een lager, aangekapt gedeelte onder lessenaarsdak. De watertoevoer geschiedt aan de voorzijde op twee plaatsen. Aan de achterzijde verheft het gebouw zich aanmerkelijk ten opzichte van het water, waardoor de in het midden gelegen blokvormige uitbouw uit twee bouwlagen kan bestaan.
Het gemaal is opgetrokken in baksteen en heeft wit gepleisterde voor- en zijgevels.
De oorspronkelijke vensters zijn gevat in gietijzeren sponningen en hebben gietijzeren traceringen.
De voorgevel toont van links naar rechts een laag venster in het aangekapte gedeelte; twee rondboogvensters in het linker blok met in de top een roosvenster; in het midden de ingang, bestaande uit twee openslaande deuren onder een halfrond afgesloten bovenlicht; in het rechter blok twee hieraan identieke, niet oorspronkelijke, deuren onder roosvenster in de top.
De enige decoratie is een soort keperboogfries onder het dakoverstek. In de rechter zijgevel zijn enkele grotere deuren en kleinen halfrondvensters aangebracht.
De achtergevel links drie rondboog stalraampjes en een roosvenster, in het uitgebouwde blok beneden een niet-orginele driedelige ingang en een zesruits klapvenster aan elk der drie zijden en één deur. Het rechts gelegen bouwvolume heeft weer twee rondboogvensters en een roosvenster, het aangekapte gedeelte twee lichtgebogen afgesloten gietijzeren zesruiters. Hiervoor bevindt zich de oorspronkelijke gemetselde wateruitlaat.

Former STEAM PUMPING STATION in eclectic style, built in 1873 by contractor P. Wilius at Anna Paulowna. The pumping station is located west of the Van Ewijcksvaart and is simple and functional in design. Description
The pumping station consists of two rectangular, coupled building masses under a set of gabled roofs covered with grey tiles, comprising one storey, with a lower, lean-to section on the left side under a mono-pitched roof. Water supply takes place at the front in two locations. At the rear, the building rises considerably relative to the water level, which allows the block-shaped extension located in the centre to consist of two storeys.
The pumping station is constructed in brick and has white-plastered front and side facades.
The original windows are set in cast-iron frames and have cast-iron glazing bars.
The front facade shows from left to right a low window in the lean-to section; two segmental-arch windows in the left block with a round window in the top; in the centre the entrance, consisting of two swing doors under a semicircular fanlight; in the right block two identical, non-original doors under a round window in the top.
The only decoration is a kind of herringbone-pattern frieze under the roof projection. In the right side facade, several larger doors and small semicircular windows have been inserted.
The rear facade on the left has three semicircular barn windows and a round window, in the extended block below a non-original three-part entrance and a six-pane casement window on each of the three sides and one door. The building volume located on the right has again two segmental-arch windows and a round window, the lean-to section two light-curved cast-iron six-pane windows. In front of this is the original mortared water outlet.
Valuation
The pumping station is of general importance for its cultural and architectural-historical value as a largely original 19th-century pumping station in eclectic style that was of essential importance for the development of the Anna Paulowna polder.
