Omschrijving
Achttiende-eeuws tuinbeeld, voorstellende een mythologische mansfiguur, gedeeltelijk gehuld in een draperie en vergezeld van een hond. Het beeld is uitgevoerd in Obernkirchner zandsteen en staat op een sokkel van hetzelfde materiaal. Beeld en sokkel dragen sporen van beschildering. Het beeld bevindt zich op de heuvel aan het noordelijke uiteinde van de vijver ten westen van het huis.
Waardering
Het achttiende-eeuwse beeld met sokkel is van algemeen belang vanwege: - schoonheid; - ouderdom; - de (overigens onbekende) mythologische figuur die vanwege zijn situering op een buitenplaats associaties met het landleven opriep; - ensemblewaarden vanwege de visuele samenhang met de buitenplaats, in het bijzonder vanwege de zichtlijn vanaf het huis.

Eighteenth-century garden sculpture, depicting a mythological male figure, partially clothed in drapery and accompanied by a dog. The sculpture is executed in Obernkirchner sandstone and stands on a plinth of the same material. Sculpture and plinth bear traces of painting. The sculpture is situated on the rise at the northern end of the pond west of the house.
Valuation
The eighteenth-century sculpture with plinth is of general importance because of: - beauty; - age; - the (otherwise unknown) mythological figure which, because of its location on a country estate, evoked associations with rural life; - ensemble values because of the visual relationship with the country estate, in particular because of the sightline from the house.
