Omschrijving
VELDKAPEL (Theresiakapel). Kleine bakstenen kapel op rechthoekige grondslag onder met grijze pannen gedekt zadeldak met wolfseinden. De kapel, die is opgedragen aan H. Theresia van Lisieux, werd in 1938 door het echtpaar Van de Mortel-de la Court opgericht als uiting van dank aan de schepper voor de genezing van hun ernstig zieke zoon J.H. van de Mortel. De naar de Van de Mortellaan gekeerde ingangs(zuid-)zijde van het monument vertoont centraal een halfronde toegang naar de kapel wordt afgesloten door een siersmeedijzeren hek. Aan weerszijden van de entree een kwartcirkelvormige plantenbak. De topgevel is met houten delen bekleed. Inwendig een basaltvloerbekleding en relief, beide voorzien van een herdenkingsinscriptie. De kapel is gesitueerd in de nabijheid van de Groenewoudsedijk en wordt door twee natuurstenen palen naar de weg afgescheiden.

Description
FIELD CHAPEL (Theresa Chapel). Small brick chapel on rectangular plan under gabled roof with half-hipped ends covered with grey tiles. The chapel, which is dedicated to St. Theresa of Lisieux, was founded in 1938 by the married couple Van de Mortel-de la Court as an expression of gratitude to the Creator for the healing of their seriously ill son J.H. van de Mortel. The entrance (south) side of the monument facing Van de Mortellaan exhibits centrally a semicircular entrance to the chapel which is closed off by an ornamental wrought-iron gate. On either side of the entrance a quarter-circle shaped planter. The top gable is covered with wooden parts. Internally a basalt floor covering and relief, both provided with a commemorative inscription. The chapel is situated in the vicinity of the Groenewoudsedijk and is separated from the road by two natural stone posts.
