Inleiding
WOONHUIS in chaletstijl uit circa 1910, direkt gelegen aan de doorgaande weg van Hengelo naar Enschede. Waarschijnlijk is het pand gebouwd als tolhuis.

Wit gepleisterd pand met een grijs geschilderde plint op een samengestelde plattegrond. Het afgewolfde zadeldak met overstek boven de twee bouwlagen tellende middentravee is met tuile du Nordpannen gedekt. Op beide nokeinden staan pironnen met daartussen een crête. Boven de westgevel heeft het dak een dakkapel onder een lessenaardak. De vierruits vensters hebben achtruits bovenlichten. De voorgevel (N) van de vooruitspringende middentravee heeft een driezijdige erker op de begane grond en vakwerk op de verdieping. In de zijgevels van dit bouwdeel bevindt zich een venster, op de verdieping bevindt zich een dubbel venster. De entree onder een luifel is in de linker travee van de voorgevel geplaatst, de rechter travee heeft een venster.
De zijgevel (O) van de linker travee (één bouwlaag) heeft een venster en vakwerk onder de dakaanzet. In de zijgevel (W) van de rechtertravee een venster. De achtergevel (Z) bestaat uit drie traveeën waarvan de middelste is voorzien van terrasdeuren, vakwerk en een driedubbel venster op de verdieping. De linker travee heeft een venster, de rechter een deur en een kleiner venster.

RESIDENCE in chalet style from circa 1910, situated directly on the through road from Hengelo to Enschede. The building was probably constructed as a toll house.
Description
White rendered building with a grey painted plint on a composite ground plan. The half-hipped gabled roof with overhang above the two-storey central bay is covered with tuile du Nord tiles. On both roof ridge ends stand roof finials with a crête between them. Above the west gable the roof has a roof dormer under a lean-to roof. The four-light windows have rear-light fanlights. The front facade (N) of the projecting central bay has a three-sided oriel on the ground floor and half-timbering on the first floor. In the side gables of this component is a window, on the first floor is a double window. The entrance under a canopy is placed in the left bay of the front facade, the right bay has a window.
The side facade (E) of the left bay (one storey) has a window and half-timbering under the roof line. In the side facade (W) of the right bay a window. The rear facade (S) consists of three bays of which the middle one is provided with terrace doors, half-timbering and a triple window on the first floor. The left bay has a window, the right one a door and a smaller window.
