Inleiding
Aan de Industriestraat, naast het fabriekscomplex van Stork, staat de "Wilhelminaschool". Deze school is als INDUSTRIESCHOOL voor de toekomstige werknemers van de Stork fabrieken in opdracht van Hengelose industrieel C.T. Stork tussen 1917 en 1918 gebouwd. Het ontwerp voor deze school in neo-renaissance-stijl is van de hand van de architect Karel Muller.
Op deze school werd aan de toekomstige werknemers van Stork technisch onderwijs gegeven.
Omschrijving
Pand vanuit een U-vormige plattegrond over twee bouwlagen opgetrokken in rode baksteen onder afgeknotte met leien gedekte (maasdekking) schilddaken. De dakkapellen hebben afgeknotte, met leien gedekte schilddaken, die eindigen in een makelaar. Op het dak drie vierkante schoorstenen met houten lamellen onder een ingezwenkt tentdak met bolbekroning.
De vensters van dit pand zijn voorzien van zesruits bovenlichten en natuurstenen blokken ter hoogte van de boven-, onder- en wisseldorpel. De vensters worden afgesloten door strekken met aanzetstenen van witte siersteen. Hierboven is een speklaag aangebracht met daarboven een onderbroken strook met decoratief metselwerk. De voorgevel van het pand (W) heeft vijf vensterassen met twee hoekrisalieten en een middenrisaliet die eindigen in een oplopende gevel onder een accoladeboog. De entree in de middenrisaliet bestaat uit een dubbele deur met bovenlichten in een portiek met een natuurstenen omlijsting. Boven de ingang bevindt zich een natuurstenen strook met de inscriptie "Wilhelminaschool".
Op de verdieping van deze vensteras zijn drie vensters geplaatst met daarboven een ronde wijzerplaat. De buitenste twee risalerende vensterassen hebben zowel op de parterre als op de verdieping, een driedubbel venster, geflankeerd door een enkel venster met daartussen lisenen. In de geveltop bevinden zich drie vensters. De tweede en vierde vensteras hebben vijf dubbele vensters op de parterre en op de verdieping.
In de beide zijgevels en de achtergevel meerdere vensters op de begane grond en op de verdieping.
In de hal van de school bevinden zich onder andere het originele trappenhuis en glas-in-lood vensters.

Description
Building erected on a U-shaped plan over two storeys in red brick under hipped roofs with truncated eaves clad with slate (Maas laying). The roof dormers have truncated, slate-clad hipped roofs, which end in a gutter bracket. On the roof three square chimneys with wooden louvres under a set-in tent roof with bulbous crown.
The windows of this building are fitted with six-paned fanlights and natural stone blocks at the level of the upper, lower and alternating corbels. The windows are finished with strips of white ornamental stonework. Above this a speckled layer has been applied with above it an interrupted strip of decorative brickwork. The front facade of the building (W) has five window bays with two corner risalits and a central risalit which end in a rising gable under a accolade arch. The entrance in the central risalit consists of a double door with fanlights in a porch with natural stone surround. Above the entrance is a natural stone strip with the inscription "Wilhelminaschool".
On the upper storey of this window bay three windows have been placed with above them a round clock face. The outermost two projecting window bays have on both the ground floor and upper storey a triple window, flanked by a single window with pilasters between them. In the gable top are three windows. The second and fourth window bays have five double windows on the ground floor and on the upper storey.
In both side facades and the rear facade multiple windows on the ground floor and on the upper storey.
In the hall of the school are located, among other things, the original staircase and stained-glass windows.
