Omschrijving
SPEELHUIS MET URINOIR. Ten noordwesten van het kasteel staat het zogenaamde in decoratieve, rustieke trant gebouwde Zwitserse speelhuis, dat is opgenomen in de ommuring van de moestuin. In 1850 is de eerste steen gelegd door freule Cornélie van Pallandt; de architect is onbekend. Het op rechthoekige grondslag met gele baksteen opgetrokken speelhuisje staat op een gemetselde bakstenen plint, die aan de voor- en zijkanten tot een bordes is uitgebouwd, en bestaat uit één bouwlaag onder een rieten dak met een opgelichte kap, gedecoreerd met houten windveren en een ruim overstek aan beide korte zijden; in de kap (met troggewelf) twee uilenborden. In de muur aan de tuinzijde zijn gotische spitsboogramen aangebracht. Aan de buitenzijde is een renaissance zuiltje met kapiteel en een zeshoekige plaquette ingemetseld. Inwendig zijn er imitaties van Romeinse mozaïeken en van Oud-hollands tegeltableaux en schouwen. De achterzijde is in gebruik als opslagplaats. Aan de zijkant van de ommuurde tuin staat een vrijstaande URINOIR, die vermoedelijk dateert uit de derde kwart van de 19de eeuw, omstreeks de periode dat het speelhuis een korte tijd bewoond werd door jkh. Frederik Willem Anne baron van Pallandt. Het op vierkante grondslag, van rode baksteen opgetrokken gebouwtje onder een plat dak heeft de ingang aan de oostzijde.

Description
PLAYHOUSE WITH URINAL. To the north-west of the castle stands the so-called Swiss playhouse, built in a decorative, rustic manner, which is incorporated into the kitchen garden walls. The first stone was laid in 1850 by Baroness Cornélie van Pallandt; the architect is unknown. The play house, constructed on a rectangular ground plan with yellow brick and standing on a mortared brick plinth which is built up to a terrace at the front and sides, consists of one storey beneath a thatched roof with a raised hip, decorated with wooden weathervanes and a generous overhang on both short sides; in the hip (with barrel vault) two owl boards. In the wall on the garden side are Gothic pointed-arched windows. On the outside is a Renaissance little column with capital and a hexagonal plaque set into the wall. Interior features imitations of Roman mosaics and Old Dutch tile tableaux and mantels. The rear side is used as storage. On the side of the walled garden stands a freestanding URINAL, probably dating from the third quarter of the 19th century, around the period when the playhouse was briefly occupied by Count Frederik Willem Anne baron van Pallandt. The small building, constructed on a square ground plan of red brick, beneath a flat roof, has its entrance on the east side.
