Inleiding
Rond 1880 in ambachtelijke-traditionele eclectische trant gebouwd WOONHUIS met bijbehorend TOEGANGSHEK - thans (1995) in gebruik als pastorie bij de Nederlands Hervormde kerk - en gesitueerd aan de westzijde van de Middenweg waarvan het door een sloot wordt gescheiden. Het toegangshek staat op een houten brug over de wegsloot.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekig grondplan gebouwd WOONHUIS bestaande uit één bouwlaag onder dwars schilddak met zwarte Hollandse pan en gemetselde schoorstenen op de beide nokpunten. Het schilddak heeft een draagconstructie met segmentbogen. Het muurwerk is opgetrokken in rode baksteen met gepleisterde decoratie, gecementeerde plint en wordt afgesloten met een omgaand hoofdgestel. De symmetrische voorgevel (O) wordt door vier lisenen verdeeld in drie traveeën: een hogere middenpartij (één vensteras) met topgevel voorzien van pleisterdecoratie en twee flankerende partijen (elk twee vensterassen) met kroonlijst. De centrale ingangspartij heeft een geprofileerde omlijsting (pleister) met daarboven een gekoppeld en getoogd T-venster. De middenpartij heeft een flauw hellend, overstekend en haaks op de hoofdkap gericht zadeldak met zwarte Hollandse pan en gesneden windveren. De flankerende geveldelen hebben elk twee getoogde T-vensters. De getoogde vensters en deurbovenlicht hebben gedecoreerde wenkbrauwen in pleister.
Linker- en rechterzijgevel en symmetrische achtergevel (N; Z; W) hebben gewijzigde deur en vensters op de oorspronkelijke plaatsen in het muurwerk. De achtergevel heeft een eenvoudige dakkapel boven de kroonlijst.
Het gedecoreerde ijzeren TOEGANGSHEK bestaat uit een dubbel draaihek met zijvoluten tussen balustervormige pijlers met pijnappelbekroning, verbonden met gedecoreerde brugleuningen an beide zijden van de brug. Deze brugleuningen bestaan eveneens uit pijlers met daartussen stangen.
Waardering
Het ambachtelijk-traditioneel met eclectische decoraties uitgevoerde woonhuis met toegangshek is van algemeen belang wegens cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van laat-19de-eeuwse architectuur op het platteland. Round 1880, a DWELLING HOUSE built in the craft-traditional eclectic manner with an accompanying ACCESS GATE - now (1995) in use as a parsonage with the Dutch Reformed Church - and situated on the west side of the Middenweg from which it is separated by a ditch. The access gate stands on a wooden bridge over the road ditch.
Description
A DWELLING HOUSE built on a rectangular ground plan consisting of one storey under a transverse hipped roof with black Dutch tile and mortared chimneys at both ridge points. The hipped roof has a supporting structure with segmental arches. The masonry is built in red brick with plastered decoration, a cemented plinth and is finished with a surrounding main cornice. The symmetrical front facade (E) is divided by four pilasters into three bays: a higher central section (one window axis) with a gable topped with plaster decoration and two flanking sections (each two window axes) with a cornice. The central entrance section has a moulded surround (plaster) with above it a coupled and arched T-window. The central section has a gently sloping, projecting and at right angles to the main roof a gabled roof with black Dutch tile and carved wind braces. The flanking gable sections each have two arched T-windows. The arched windows and door fanlight have decorated eyebrows in plaster.
Left and right side facades and symmetrical rear facade (N; S; W) have altered doors and windows in their original positions in the masonry. The rear facade has a simple roof dormer above the cornice.
The decorated iron ACCESS GATE consists of a double swing gate with side volutes between baluster-shaped piers with pineapple finials, connected with decorated bridge railings on both sides of the bridge. These bridge railings also consist of piers with bars between them.
Valuation
The dwelling house with access gate, executed in craft-traditional manner with eclectic decorations, is of general importance for its cultural and architectural-historical value as a well-preserved example of late 19th-century rural architecture. The dwelling house has ensemble value as a characteristic component of the 19th-century built environment on either side of the Middenweg.
