Rond 1890 gebouwd STALGEBOUW MET KOETSIERSWONING, onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats Vaart en Duin, gebouwd in eclectische bouwtrant.
Omschrijving
Het pand bestaat uit een op rechthoekige plattegrond gebouwd stalgebouw dat haaks op de Korte Zijlweg ligt met aan de oostzijde er tegenaan gelegen een koetsierswoning, eveneens op rechthoekige plattegrond haaks op de Korte Zijlweg. Het één bouwlaag hoge stalgebouw wordt gedekt door een samengesteld zadeldak met overstek dat bekleed is met zwarte kruispannen. De één bouwlaag hoge koetsierswoning wordt gedekt door een zadeldak bekleed met zwarte pan. Beide onderdelen van het object zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen.
Het stalgebouw staat op een plint van donkere baksteen. In de topgevels bevindt zich net onder de dakrand een plastische geveldecoratie van baksteen. De westelijke zijgevel van het stalgebouw bezit twee hoge dubbele houten deuren met halfronde, van bewerkt houtwerk voorziene, beeïndigingen. Deze westgevel van het stalgebouw is op de hoeken versierd met bakstenen pilasters met cassetten-motief. In de topgevel van deze gevelwand bevond zich oorspronkelijk een rond venster (thans met hout dichtgezet). Rondom de deuren en het ronde venster loopt een sierband van donkere en lichte baksteen. In zowel de noordelijke als zuidelijke zijgevel van het stalgebouw bevinden zich aan de oostzijde drie hoge dubbele houten deurpartijen met halfronde beeïndiging. Deze deurpartijen liggen onder een dwars geplaatst ingestoken zadeldak. In de zodoende gevormde topgevels bevindt zich een roosvenster. De koetsierswoning wordt langs de zuidgevel bovenlangs afgesloten door een brede houten kroonlijst. In het midden van deze zuidgevel bevindt zich de oorspronkelijke voordeur omlijst met een pilasterstelling. Links en rechts van deze voordeur bevinden zich twee houten schuifvensters met getoogde bovendorpel. De overige gevelzijden van de koetsierswoning bezitten verscheidene vensters en deuren, verschillend van type en formaat.
Aan de noordzijde van het stalgebouw is in latere jaren een aanbouw van één bouwlaag hoogte onder zadeldak aangebouwd. Deze aanbouw valt buiten de bescherming.

The building consists of a stable building constructed on a rectangular floor plan which is set at right angles to the Korte Zijlweg with a coachman's residence attached to the east side, likewise on a rectangular floor plan at right angles to the Korte Zijlweg. The one-storey stable building is covered by a composite gabled roof with overhang which is clad with black cross tiles. The stable building stands on a plinth of dark brick. In the gable ends there is just below the roof edge a plastic facade decoration of brick. The western side elevation of the stable building has two tall double wooden doors with semi-circular terminations provided with worked timber. This west facade of the stable building is decorated at the corners with brick pilasters with cassette motif. In the gable end of this facade wall there was originally a round window (now boarded up with timber). Around the doors and the round window runs a decorative band of dark and light brick. In both the northern and southern side elevations of the stable building there are on the east side three tall double wooden door sections with semi-circular termination. These door sections lie under a transversely placed recessed gabled roof. In the gable ends thus formed there is a rose window. The coachman's residence is finished along the top of the south elevation by a broad wooden cornice. In the middle of this south elevation is the original front door framed with a pilaster setting. To the left and right of this front door there are two wooden sash windows with curved upper beam. The remaining facade sides of the coachman's residence have several windows and doors, varying in type and format.
On the north side of the stable building an extension of one storey height under a gabled roof has been added in later years. This extension is excluded from the protection.
