Inleiding
Grenskantoor gebouwd te Barger-Oosterveen in 1904 in opdracht van Jhr. J. Hora van Holthe tot Ichten. In de jaren '60 is de woning enigszins gewijzigd en zijn enkele daklichten en een kelderraam in de zijgevel aangebracht. De bescherming betreft het hoofdvolume en de oorspronkelijke geveldetaillering.
Omschrijving
Pand opgetrokken in baksteen vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond met een aanbouw over één bouwlaag onder een met muldenpannen gedekt samengesteld zadeldak. De gevelopeningen zijn segmentboogvormig, de sluit- en aanzetstenen zijn geaccentueerd. De T-vensters zijn rechtgesloten en hebben twaalfruits bovenlichten. De voorgevel bestaat uit de kopgevel van het lange bouwdeel (de woning) en de zijgevel van het haakse bouwdeel (het grenskantoor). De geveldelen parallel aan de straat hebben speklagen. In de kopgevel van het lange bouwdeel twee T-vensters, in de geveltop een tweeruits draairaam. In de zijgevel van het kantoor rechts de entree met bovenlicht en links twee gekoppelde vensters onder één segmentboog. In de linkerzijgevel, de kopgevel van haakse bouwdeel, links een venster aan de rechterkant.
In de rechterzijgevel, de zijgevel van de woning, vier T-vensters. In de korte zijgevel van de woning eenruits vensters. Aan de achterzijde een moderne aanbouw.

The front facade consists of the gable end of the long building section (the dwelling) and the side facade of the right-angled building section (the border office). The facade parts parallel to the street have brick-and-tile bonding. In the gable end of the long building section two T-windows, in the gable top a two-pane sash window. In the side facade of the office on the right the entrance with fanlight and on the left two coupled windows under one segmental arch. In the left side facade, the gable end of the right-angled building section, on the left a window on the right side.
