Inleiding
Landhuis gebouwd circa 1935 in opdracht van R. Zegering Hadders uit Emmen, naar ontwerp van de Utrechtse architecten ingenieur Daan Jansen en C. Bos. Het traditionalistische ontwerp vertoont invloed van de Haagse School. Nu fungeert het landhuis, dat onderdeel uitmaakt van het Noorder Dierenpark, als kantoor en cadeaushop, waarvoor het interieur gewijzigd is.
De villa is karakteristiek voor het verdichtingspatroon met villa-achtige bebouwing, beeldbepalend gelegen aan de Hoofdstraat.
De bescherming betreft het hoofdvolume en de geveldetaillering.
Beschrijving
Villa opgetrokken in baksteen vanaf een vierkante plattegrond over twee bouwlagen, deels in de kap, onder met terracotta leien gedekt schilddak. Centraal op de nok een schijfvormige schoorsteen. Garage onder schilddak, met hoofdvolume verbonden via tussenlid onder zadeldak.
De noordgevel met de entree, een paneeldeur met sleufventer, beslaat twee verdiepingen onder een wolfeind. Bij de dakeinden overkragend muurwerk, rechts met een steunbeer. Links van de entree vier éénruits vensters. Op de verdieping boven deze venters vier hoogopgaande meerruits sleufvensters voor het trappenhuis. Rechts van de entree drie gekoppelde vensters. Links van de vier losse vensters vijf gekoppelde vensters. Aan weerszijden van het trappenlicht twee éénruits vensters. In de zijgevel van het tussenlid vier, in de gevel van de garage drie éénruits vensters. In de westgevel van de garage een dubbele inrit.
De oostgevel telt eveneens twee verdiepingen. Rechts het tussenlid en de garage. In de kopgevel van de garage een deur en drie éénruits vensters. In de zijgevel van tussenlid en garage (Zuid) een deur, links twee en rechts vijf éénruits vensters. In de gevel links van de aanbouw twee vensters en een deur met gekoppeld venster. Op de verdieping één, twee gekoppelde en drie gekoppelde vensters. In het dakschild een ooglid-vormige dakkapel met dubbel draairaam.
De zuidgevel beslaat één verdieping, hier tweemaal drie gekoppelde vensters met een éénruits venster ertussen. In het dakschild onderin een brede oogliddakkapel met twee dubbele draairamen en erboven een smaller oogliddakkapel met één dubbel draairaam. De dakkapellen in de zuidgevel zijn lager dan in de oostgevel.
Het middendeel van de westgevel gaat op over twee verdiepingen onder een steekkap. Op de begane grond vier, op de verdieping drie gekoppelde vensters. Rechts springt de gevel terug. In de oksel een erker met een overhoekse vensterpartij en een balkon op de verdieping, ontsloten door een dubbele deur met gekoppeld venster. Het blinde geveldeel links is één verdieping hoog.

Description
Villa built in brick from a square ground plan over two storeys, partly in the roof space, covered with a hipped roof of terracotta tiles. Centrally on the ridge a disc-shaped chimney. Garage under a hipped roof, connected to the main volume via an intermediate section under a gabled roof.
The north facade with the entrance, a panel door with slot window, spans two storeys under a half-hip. At the roof ends projecting brickwork, on the right with a buttress. To the left of the entrance four single-pane windows. On the storey above these windows four tall multi-pane slot windows for the stairwell. To the right of the entrance three coupled windows. To the left of the four single windows five coupled windows. On either side of the stairlight two single-pane windows. In the side facade of the intermediate section four, in the garage facade three single-pane windows. In the west facade of the garage a double entrance.
The east facade likewise has two storeys. On the right the intermediate section and garage. In the gable end of the garage a door and three single-pane windows. In the side facade of the intermediate section and garage (South) a door, on the left two and on the right five single-pane windows. In the facade to the left of the extension two windows and a door with coupled window. On the storey one, two coupled and three coupled windows. In the roof panel an eye-shaped roof dormer with double pivot window.
The south facade covers one storey, here twice three coupled windows with a single-pane window between them. In the roof panel at the bottom a wide eye-shaped roof dormer with two double pivot windows and above it a narrower eye-shaped roof dormer with one double pivot window. The roof dormers in the south facade are lower than in the east facade.
The middle section of the west facade spans two storeys under a steep roof. On the ground floor four, on the storey three coupled windows. On the right the facade steps back. In the corner a bay with an angled window arrangement and a balcony on the storey, accessed by a double door with coupled window. The blank facade part on the left is one storey high.
