Inleiding
VOETGANGERSBRUG van het hoogholttype over het Kanaal Baflo-Mensingeweer vermoedelijk uit ongeveer 1910. De brug ligt in het verlengde van een oud kerkpad dat vanaf Rasquert en de boerderij Westermei via de Kruisstraat naar de Nederlands Hervormde kerk van Baflo liep. Bijzonder is dat deze hoogholt niet zoals gewoonlijk in hout is uitgevoerd, maar in ijzer. In de loop der tijd zijn enkele brugonderdelen vernieuwd: de funderingen zijn vernieuwd en in beton uitgevoerd, de draagconstructie van vakwerk is vermoedelijk deels vernieuwd en met bouten aan elkaar bevestigd en de treden van beide opgangen zijn van modern plaatstaal. Aan de oostzijde van de brug loopt een buis voor leidingen.
Omschrijving
VOETGANGERSBRUG (Hoogholt), uitgevoerd in ijzer. Brugdek, ongeveer 0.50 meter breed, is van ijzer en wordt gedragen door twee pijlers van een ijzeren vakwerkconstructie; vakwerkconstructies zijn elk gefundeerd op twee niet-originele betonnen palen. Beide opgangen hebben treden van niet-origineel plaatstaal. Leuningstijlen van brugdek en opgangen zijn van geklonken smeedijzer.

Introduction
FOOTBRIDGE of the high-post type over the Canal Baflo-Mensingeweer presumably from around 1910. The bridge lies in the extension of an old church path that ran from Rasquert and the farmstead Westermei via the Kruisstraat to the Dutch Reformed Church of Baflo. Remarkable is that this high-post is not, as is usual, executed in wood, but in iron. Over time some bridge components have been renewed: the foundations have been renewed and executed in concrete, the load-bearing structure of lattice work has presumably been partially renewed and bolted together, and the treads of both approaches are of modern sheet steel. On the east side of the bridge runs a pipe for utilities.

Bridge deck, approximately 0.50 metres wide, is of iron and is carried by two piers of an iron lattice-work structure; lattice structures are each founded on two non-original concrete piles.
