Inleiding
RENTENIERSWONING gebouwd circa 1880 volgens een balk waarin staat gekrast: A. Boot 1880. In 1923 is het pand door L. Bakker & Zoon verbouwd tot winkelwoonhuis. Het kreeg onder andere een groot winkelraam met een deur erin. De deur is nu verdwenen. Oorspronkelijk had het huis een achterhuis. Dit is na de jaren zeventig door brand verwoest en opgeruimd.
Het in een Ambachtelijk-traditionele trant opgetrokken pand met eclectische elementen, is markant gelegen op de hoek van de Heerestraat en de R. Agricolastraat. Bij het huis hoort een schuurtje met houten aangekapte garage, dat wegens onvoldoende kwaliteit buiten de bescherming valt.
Omschrijving
RENTENIERSWONING opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond in een rood-bruine baksteen op een donkerrood bakstenen trasraam. Het schilddak is gedekt met een zwarte Friese geglazuurde pan en heeft vier gemetselde schoorstenen met kap. Een kroonlijst en gepleisterde hoekpilasters met spiegels verlevendigen de gevels.
De hoofdentree bevindt zich midden in de voorgevel en bestaat uit een nieuwe deur (oorspronkelijk een dubbele paneeldeur) met bovenlicht in een portiek met verspringende houten omlijsting. Boven de entree bevindt zich een dakkapel onder een zadeldakje met sierlijst waarop een houten ornament prijkt. De dakkapel heeft openslaande deuren met decoratieve gietijzeren roedenverdeling in de deurlichten. Ervoor een houten balkon steunend op twee consoles.
Het huis heeft T-vensters met ronde schouders binnen een houten omlijsting met kuif. De zuidgevel heeft twee T-vensters, openslaande deuren met houten omlijsting en een keldervenster.
De achtergevel heeft een nieuwe deur met getoogd bovenlicht, een klein venster en een omlijst venster met dichtgezet bovenlicht (niet origineel).

RENTENIER'S DWELLING built circa 1880 according to a beam in which is scratched: A. Boot 1880. In 1923 the building was remodelled by L. Bakker & Zoon into a shop-dwelling. It received among other things a large shop window with a door in it. The door has now disappeared. Originally the house had a rear building. This was destroyed by fire after the nineteen-seventies and cleared away.
The building, erected in a Craftsmanlike-traditional manner with eclectic elements, is markedly situated at the corner of the Heerestraat and the R. Agricolastraat. The house is accompanied by a small shed with wooden attached garage, which falls outside the protection owing to insufficient quality.
Description
RENTENIER'S DWELLING erected on a rectangular plan in red-brown brick on a dark red brick travertine frame. The hipped roof is covered with black Frisian glazed tiles and has four brick chimneys with caps. A cornice and plastered corner pilasters with panels enliven the facades.
The main entrance is located in the middle of the front facade and consists of a new door (originally a double panel door) with fanlight in a porch with recessed wooden framing. Above the entrance is a roof dormer under a small gabled roof with an ornamental moulding on which a wooden ornament sits. The dormer has French doors with decorative cast-iron glazing bars in the door lights. In front of it a wooden balcony supported on two consoles.
The house has T-windows with rounded shoulders within a wooden frame with a hood. The south facade has two T-windows, French doors with wooden framing and a basement window.
The rear facade has a new door with a segmental-arched fanlight, a small window and a framed window with a filled-in fanlight (not original).
The INTERIOR has been so extensively remodelled that it falls outside the protection.
