Inleiding
De SCHUUR genaamd De Goudmijn is in 1867 gebouwd als onderdeel van het boerderijcomplex 'Oranjehoeve'. De schuur is achter de boerderij gebouwd als bewaarplaats voor mest. Omstreeks 1850 begon men in Friesland te experimenteren met het overdekt opslaan van mest. Deze schuur is de enig overgebleven overdekte mestberging in Friesland uit die begintijd. In de schuur is een deels ingebouwde garage van recentere datum.
Omschrijving
De schuur is gebouwd op een langgerekt rechthoekig grondplan en is drie traveeën diep. Het onbeschoten zadel-schilddak is gedekt met zwart gesmoorde Hollandse pannen. Op de nok zijn naaldpannen voorzien van een palmetdecoratie. De schuur is geheel van hout met een open zijwandconstructie met standvinken, waarop de daksporen rusten. De kapconstructie rust op houten kolommen met radiaire schoren op hoge gemetselde poeren. De gebruikte palen zijn ongekant; de stijlen van de standvinken hebben merktekens.
Waardering
De schuur voor mestberging, behorend bij het boerderijcomplex 'Oranjehoeve', is van cultuurhistorisch en typologisch belang:
- vanwege de hoge mate van belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een landbouwhistorische ontwikkeling,

The BARN known as De Goudmijn was built in 1867 as part of the farm complex 'Oranjehoeve'. The barn was built behind the farmhouse as a storage place for manure. Around 1850, people in Friesland began experimenting with covered storage of manure. This barn is the only remaining covered manure storage from Friesland from that early period. A partially built-in garage of more recent date is located in the barn.
Description
The barn is built on an elongated rectangular plan and is three bays deep. The unboarded hipped gabled roof is covered with black smoked Dutch tiles. Needle tiles with palm decoration are fitted along the ridge. The barn is entirely wooden with an open side wall construction with posts, on which the roof beams rest. The roof truss structure rests on wooden columns with radiating braces on high mortared piers. The pales used are unplaned; the posts of the posts have carpenters' marks.
