Inleiding
POLDERMOLEN "De Tjongermolen". Mooi aan de rand van de gekanaliseerde Tjonger gelegen achtkantige monninksmolen, in 1983 verplaatst naar de huidige standplaats. De molen werd gebouwd in 1869 op enige honderden meters afstand van de huidige standplaats. In 1918 door storm omgewaaid, daarna weer herbouwd. Op de huidige standplaats stond voorheen geen molen.
Omschrijving
Achtkantige houten poldermolen op gemetselde voet met een van staande beschieting voorzien houten achtkant. De kap is voorzien van een gepotdekselde houten bekleding. Houten roeden en bovenas, oudhollands opgehekt. Houten gaande werk en vijzel. De vijzel is gelegen in een houten schroefbak, en maalt via een gemetselde voorwaterloop uit in het Tjongerkanaal. In de stenen voet en achtkant een houten deur.
