Omschrijving onderdeel 1:
HOOFDGEBOUW (Houdringe). Het sober gedetailleerde corps de logis uit 1779 is gebouwd in classicistische stijl waarschijnlijk naar ontwerp van de Amsterdamse architect A. van der Hart. Het bakstenen pand heeft een rechthoekig plattegrond en bestaat uit een souterrain en twee bouwlagen onder een met gesmoorde verbeterde Hollandse pannen gedekt afgeplat schilddak, waarop aan de voorzijde twee negentiende-eeuwse dakkapellen zijn aangebracht. Op de hoeken van het gebouw zijn zandstenen blokken in het metselwerk opgenomen. In de voorgevel tegen de blokrand is een baksteen ingemetseld met de inscriptie 'PHVW Aº 1779' (de letters staan voor Pieter Hieronymus van Westrenen). Aan weerskanten van het corps de logis is een gemetseld muurtje op een zandstenen plint waarin een rondboogpoortje in een zandstenen omlijsting. De zevenassige symmetrische voorgevel heeft een middenrisaliet van drie traveeën bekroond door een driehoekig fronton (met zink gedekt) waarin in 1888 een klein roosvenster is aangebracht. Een hardstenen tien-tredige trap leidt naar de drie deuren op de bel-étage, waarvan de middelste de ingang vormt. De drie deuren hebben een halfrond bovenlicht met spaakroeden. Aan weerszijden van het risaliet bevinden zich twee schuifvensters. Op de verdieping zijn zeven schuifvensters aangebracht. De wisseldorpel van deze vensters is in het midden gesitueerd. Alle vensters worden geflankeerd door persiennes. Ook de achtergevel heeft een middenrisaliet waarvan de middelste vensters op de bel-étage en de verdieping een natuurstenen omlijsting hebben. Het fronton aan deze zijde is segmentvormig.
In het INTERIEUR zijn ondermeer van belang de inrichting van de hal met marmeren vloer en getordeerde zandstenen zuilen (XVII) van de Ionische orde, die van elders zijn ingebracht; de marmeren schouwen, beschilderde plafonds en stucwerk op de bel-étage daterend uit de bouwtijd (1779); de schouw en betimmeringen in de rechter voorkamer naar ontwerp van architect A.Salm (1888).

MAIN BUILDING (Houdringe). The soberly detailed corps de logis from 1779 is built in classicist style probably to a design by the Amsterdam architect A. van der Hart. The brick building has a rectangular floor plan and consists of a basement and two storeys under a hipped roof covered with suppressed improved Dutch tiles, on which two nineteenth-century roof dormers have been applied at the front. On the corners of the building are sandstone blocks incorporated into the masonry. In the front facade against the block edge is a brick laid with the inscription 'PHVW Aº 1779' (the letters stand for Pieter Hieronymus van Westrenen). On both sides of the corps de logis is a brick wall on a sandstone plinth in which is a small round-arch gate in a sandstone frame. The seven-bay symmetrical front facade has a central risalit of three bays crowned by a triangular pediment (covered with zinc) in which in 1888 a small rose window has been inserted. A hardstone ten-step staircase leads to the three doors on the principal floor, of which the middle one forms the entrance. The three doors have a semi-circular fanlight with spoke bars. On both sides of the risalit are two sash windows. On the storey above are seven sash windows. The drip moulding of these windows is situated in the middle. All windows are flanked by shutters. The rear facade also has a central risalit of which the middle windows on the principal floor and the storey above have a natural stone frame. The pediment on this side is segment-shaped.
In the INTERIOR are among other things significant: the arrangement of the hall with marble floor and fluted sandstone columns (17th century) of the Ionic order, which have been brought from elsewhere; the marble fireplaces, painted ceilings and stucco work on the principal floor dating from the building period (1779); the fireplace and panelling in the right front room to a design by architect A. Salm (1888).
