Omschrijving complexonderdeel 7
Het ZUSTERHUIS `Dimphna', aan de linkerzijde van de hoofdas, is in 1928 naar ontwerp van H.F. Mertens gebouwd in de as van de Vijverhof en sluit het terrein visueel aan de linkerzijde af. Het heeft geen pendant aan de andere zijde, waar een pergola is neergezet. Dit zusterhuis heeft twee bouwlagen op een kleinere, rechthoekige plattegrond onder een schilddak met overstek en de nok evenwijdig aan de hoofdas. De gevels zijn uitgevoerd in baksteen. De hoofdopzet van het bouwvolume is symmetrisch. Om de gevelhoeken van de voorgevel aan de zuidzijde, is een lagere aanbouw onder een schilddak gezet die gedeeltelijk langs de voorgevel loopt. De gevel heeft in de eerste bouwlaag een monumentale ingangspartij op de middenas, bestaande uit een rondboogvormige portiek door zes rollagen omvat, waarin een teruggelegen deur/vensterpartij is geplaatst. De deur is gevat in een zwaar uitgevoerd rondboogvormig roedenvenster, die is opgebouwd uit elf stevige, afgeronde stijlen. De stroken zijn door middel van horizontale roeden onderverdeeld. Aan weerszijden van de ingangspartij zijn bloembakken gemetseld. Onder het dakoverstek bevindt zich een samengesteld strokenvenster met roedenindeling.
De zijgevels, aan de west- en oostzijde, zijn identiek van opbouw, conform type A, alleen is aan deze zijde geen deur geplaatst, maar een inmiddels gewijzigd venster.
De noordelijke achtergevel bestaat uit drie bouwlagen doordat een deel van de grond is weggegraven. Hier bevindt zich op de middenas de toegangsdeur tot de kelder. De deur wordt geflankeerd door een gekoppeld tweelichtsvenster. In de tweede en derde bouwlaag bevinden zich smalle strokenvensters.

The SISTER HOUSE 'Dimphna', on the left side of the main axis, was built in 1928 according to a design by H.F. Mertens in the axis of the Vijverhof and visually closes off the site on the left side. It has no counterpart on the other side, where a pergola has been erected. This sister house has two storeys on a smaller, rectangular plan under a hipped roof with overhang and the ridge parallel to the main axis. The facades are executed in brick. The main composition of the building volume is symmetrical. Around the gable corners of the front facade on the south side, a lower extension under a hipped roof is placed which runs partially along the front facade. The facade has in the first storey a monumental entrance arrangement on the central axis, consisting of a round-arched portico enclosed by six roll courses, in which a recessed door/window arrangement is placed. The door is set in a heavily executed round-arched glazed window, which is composed of eleven sturdy, rounded stiles. The panels are subdivided by means of horizontal glazing bars. On either side of the entrance arrangement flower boxes are built in. Beneath the roof overhang is a composite strip window with glazing bars.
The side facades, on the west and east sides, are identical in composition, conforming to type A, only on this side no door is placed, but a now-altered window.
The northern rear facade consists of three storeys because part of the ground has been excavated. Here on the central axis is the access door to the basement. The door is flanked by a paired two-light window. In the second and third storey are narrow strip windows.

The sister house is of cultural-historical and typological value as an example of accommodation for nursing staff in the early 1930s of the 20th century. Also of ensemble value as part of the W.A. Foundation. Furthermore of significance as part of the oeuvre of H.F. Mertens.
