Omschrijving complexonderdeel 5
Vier ZUSTERHUIZEN van het type A, aan de linker- en rechterzijde van de hoofdas, hebben twee bouwlagen op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder een schilddak met overstek en de nok haaks op de hoofdas. De gevels zijn uitgevoerd in baksteen. De hoofdopzet van het bouwvolume is symmetrisch. Op de gevelhoeken aan de voorgevel is een lagere aanbouw onder een schilddak gezet die gedeeltelijk langs de voorgevel loopt. De voorgevel heeft in de eerste bouwlaag een samengesteld strokenvenster met roedenindeling. Aan de uiteinden hiervan is een deur geplaatst. Aan deze zijde hebben de genoemde aanbouwen een vijflichts hoekvenster onder de dakgoot. In de tweede bouwlaag bevindt zich onder het dakoverstek een smaller strokenvenster, dat voornamelijk uit vierruits draairamen is opgebouwd. In het dakschild zijn twee lage dakkapellen onder een plat aangebracht.
De zijgevels zijn identiek en kenmerken zich door de aanbouw waarin aan deze zijde een deur en een vierlichts strokenvenster zijn geplaatst. De achterzijde van de aanbouwen hebben een vensterpartij conform het zojuist genoemde venster.
De achtergevel van het hoofdvolume is symmetrisch ingedeeld met in de tweede bouwlaag een strokenvenster onder de dakgoot, dat wat betreft opzet gelijk is aan de voorgevel. In de eerste bouwlaag zijn van links naar rechts een tweelichtsvenster, een liggend strokenvenster, een zeslichtsvenster, een liggend venster en tot slot een tweelichtsvenster geplaatst. Ook aan deze zijde bevinden zich in het dakschild dakkapellen overeenkomstig de voorzijde.

De zusterhuizen zijn van cultuurhistorische en typologische waarde als voorbeeld van behuizing voor verplegend personeel begin jaren dertig van de 20ste eeuw. Alsmede van ensemble waarde als onderdeel van de W.A. Hoeve. Tevens van belang als onderdeel in het oeuvre van Mertens.

Four SISTER HOUSES of type A, on the left and right sides of the main axis, have two storeys on a rectangular plan under a hipped roof with overhang and the ridge perpendicular to the main axis. The facades are executed in brick. The main composition of the building volume is symmetrical. On the gable corners at the front facade a lower extension under a hipped roof is placed which runs partially along the front facade. The front facade has in the first storey a composite strip window with glazing bars. A door is placed at the ends of this. On this side the mentioned extensions have a five-light corner window under the roof eaves. In the second storey beneath the roof overhang is a narrower strip window, which is composed mainly of four-pane casement windows. In the roof slope two low roof dormers under a flat are provided.
The side facades are identical and are characterised by the extension in which a door and a four-light strip window are placed. The rear side of the extensions have a window arrangement according to the aforementioned window.
The rear facade of the main volume is symmetrically laid out with in the second storey a strip window under the roof eaves, which in terms of arrangement is the same as the front facade. In the first storey from left to right are placed a two-light window, a horizontal strip window, a six-light window, a horizontal window and finally a two-light window.
