Omschrijving
De tussen de Cuneraweg (bij no. 305) en de Oude Veensegrindweg in het weiland gelegen DUIVENTOREN, gebouwd omstreeks 1725 na afbraak van het oude huis op die plek. Daarbij zijn de oude stenen gebruikt.
De toren ligt op een eilandje in het midden van een gracht en is op een ronde plattegrond opgetrokken en wordt afgedekt door een veelhoekig tentdak met zinken bekleding. Op de top staat een duif.
De toren is boven een gepleisterde plint opgetrokken in handvormbaksteen. H et muurwerk wordt gesierd door twee uitgemetselde banden met ojiefprofiel. Aan de oostzijde bevindt zich een getoogde opgeklampte deur. De westzijde bevat vijf rijen getoogde en keperboogvormige openingen.
Waardering
De duiventoren is van architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege het bouwtype en de materiaaltoepassingen. Het is van cultuurhistorische waarde als oudste resterende bouwkundig onderdeel van de buitenplaats. Tevens is het object van ensemblewaarde vanwege de landelijke ligg ing en als eikpunt van het lanenstelsel van Remmerstein.

Description
The DOVECOTE situated between the Cuneraweg (at no. 305) and the Oude Veensegrindweg in the meadow, built around 1725 after the demolition of the old house on that spot. The old stones were reused for this purpose.
The tower stands on an island in the middle of a moat and is built on a circular plan and is topped by a polygonal tent roof with zinc cladding. On top stands a dove.
The tower is constructed above a rendered plinth in handmade brick. The brickwork is decorated by two projecting bands with ogee profile. On the east side is an arched clamped door. The west side contains five rows of arched and corbel arch-shaped openings.
Valuation
The dovecote is of architectural-historical value because of its building type and material applications. It is of cultural-historical value as the oldest remaining architectural component of the country estate. The object is also of ensemble value because of its rural setting and as a focal point of the lane system of Remmerstein.
