Omschrijving
De MARECHAUSSEEKAZERNE is opgetrokken in gele baksteen op een L-vormige plattegrond onder steile zadeldaken met antracietgrijze Hollandse pannen en een overstekende goot. De twee vleugels van het gebouw zijn opgetrokken over twee bouwlagen met een verdiepingloos deel aan beide kopgevels. Op het snijpunt van de vleugels staat een vierkante toren, waarin het hoofdtrappehuis en op de begane grond aan de westkant de hoofdingang zijn ondergebracht.
De gevels zijn geleed door een hoge plint van zwart geglazuurde tegels en grote rechtgesloten vensters met een kleine roedenverdeling. Op de begane grond zijn de vensters onder hoge strekken geplaatst, op de verdieping onder een doorlopende band van horizontaal gemetselde stenen. Houten deuren met smalle ruitjes onder betonnen luifels en drieruits bovenlichten verschaffen de toegang tot de dienstwoningen. De eindgevels van de vleugels zijn blind. In het dak grote dakkapellen met vensters met een kleine roedenverdeling. Gemetselde schoorstenen op de nokeinden.
De gevels van de toren zijn geleed door verticale siermetselverbanden, smalle traplichten van glasstenen en in de top gele en paarsblauwe tegels. The GENDARMERIE BARRACKS is erected in yellow brick on an L-shaped floor plan under steep gabled roofs with anthracite-grey Dutch tiles and an overhanging gutter. The two wings of the building are erected over two storeys with a single-storey section at both gable ends. At the junction of the wings stands a square tower, which houses the main staircase and on the ground floor on the west side the main entrance.
The facades are articulated by a high plinth of black glazed tiles and large flush-shutting windows with small glazing bars. On the ground floor the windows are placed under high spans, on the storey above under a continuous band of horizontally laid stones. Wooden doors with narrow panes under concrete canopies and three-pane fanlights provide access to the dwellings. The end facades of the wings are blank. In the roof large roof dormers with windows with small glazing bars. Built chimneys at the ridge ends.
The facades of the tower are articulated by vertical ornamental bonding patterns, narrow stair lights of glass bricks and in the top yellow and purple-blue tiles.
