Omschrijving
Een langs de Arnhemse Bovenweg gelegen DIENSTWONING MET POORT, is gebouwd als entree voor het in 1907 gestichtte landgoed Heidestein. Het ontwerp is van de gebroeders Fukkink. Het pand telt één bouwlaag op een min of meer L-vormige plattegrond onder een met riet gedekt zadeldak waarvan de dakschilden enigszins uitzwenken. Aan elke zijde is een dakkapel met samengestelde vensters in het dak opgenomen. In de buitenhoek van de L-vorm bevindt zich een driezijdige hoekpartij van twee bouwlagen onder een rietgedekt steekkap, waarvan de nokhoogte lager is dan die van het hoofdvolume. In de binnenhoek, aan de achterzijde, bevindt zich in de kil van het dak een klein, halfrond daklicht. Op de nok zijn vier schoorstenen geplaatst. De gevels zijn in Vlaams verband opgetrokken, waarbij het voegwerk niet afgestreken is. Alle gevels zijn voorzien van stalen roedenvensters met draairamen en zijn aan de voorzijde in de eerste bouwlaag voorzien van opgeklampte luiken.
De voorgevel (zuidwestzijde) heeft een symmetrische indeling met een op de middenas geplaatste korfboogvormige poort die zowel aan de voor- als achterzijde met een dubbele houten deur kan worden afgesloten. Deze poort geeft toegang tot de plaats achter het huis (zie hieronder), maar kan ook als stalling gebruikt worden.
De voorgevel aan de oprijlaanzijde heeft eveneens een symmetrische indeling met op de middenas een deur. De achtergevel (plaatszijde) heeft eveneens een korfboogvormige poort met rechts daarvan een deur. De korte zijgevel (noordoostgevel) heeft een in het midden geplaatste schoorsteenpartij. Tegen de gevel is later een aanbouw onder een plat dak gezet (voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang).
Waardering
De dienstwoning is van architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een bouwtype en vanwege stijlkenmerken, alsmede van ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van de voormalige buitenplaats Heidestein.

Description
A LODGE WITH GATE located along the Arnhemse Bovenweg, built as an entrance to the country estate Heidestein founded in 1907. The design is by the Fukkink brothers. The building consists of one storey on a more or less L-shaped plan under a reed-thatched gabled roof whose roof boards splay somewhat to the sides. On each side a dormer window with compound windows is incorporated in the roof. In the outer corner of the L-shape there is a three-sided corner section of two storeys under a reed-thatched pitched roof, the ridge height of which is lower than that of the main volume. In the inner corner, at the rear, there is a small semi-circular roof light in the roof valley. On the ridge four chimneys are positioned. The facades are built in Flemish bond, with the mortar joints not struck. All facades are provided with steel-barred windows with casements and on the front in the first storey are provided with attached shutters.
The front facade (south-west side) has a symmetrical layout with a basket-arch shaped gate positioned on the central axis that can be closed on both the front and rear sides with double wooden doors. This gate provides access to the space behind the house (see below), but can also be used as a stable.
