Inleiding
In het als gebied A omschreven gedeelte van het beschermde deel van de Rooms-katholieke begraafplaats gelegen grafmonument. Het monument staat centraal aan het meest oostelijke pad van de begraafplaats. Het werd in eclectisch-classicistische trant vervaardigd door H. Dubois te Gent voor het familiegraf van de familie Van Waesberghe. Het monument is waarschijnlijk direct na de in gebruike name van de begraafplaats omstreeks 1870 geplaatst.
Omschrijving
Zware vierkante hardstenen sokkel voorzien van marmeren tableaus met inscriptie. De sokkel met pilasterachtige hoekdecoraties wordt vierzijdig afgesloten door frontonachtige elementen en hoekpilonen. Op de sokkel een vierkante, obeliskachtige zuil bekroond door een vaas. Het grafmonument is voorzien van een omheining in de vorm van natuurstenen palen op een plint met daartussen een smeedijzeren ketting.

Grafmonument van algemeen belang vanwege het bijzonder monumentale karakter en als zodanig van grote ensemblewaarde voor het complex.

Introduction
Grave monument located in the part of the protected Roman Catholic cemetery described as area A. The monument stands centrally on the most easterly path of the cemetery. It was created in an eclectic-classical manner by H. Dubois at Gent for the family grave of the Van Waesberghe family. The monument was probably placed shortly after the cemetery came into use around 1870.
Description
Heavy square hardstone plinth provided with marble tableaus with inscription. The plinth with pilaster-like corner decorations is finished on all four sides by pediment-like elements and corner pylons. On the plinth a square, obelisk-like column crowned by an urn. The grave monument is provided with a surrounding fence in the form of natural stone posts on a plinth with wrought-iron chain between them.
Valuation
Grave monument of general importance on account of its exceptionally monumental character and as such of major ensemble value for the complex.
