Inleiding
Twee identieke POORTWONINGEN uit 1937, van de architect Andries de Maaker, behorende tot de buitenplaats Singraven. De poortwoningen zijn gelegen aan weerszijden van het toegangshek (monumentnummer 508938) aan het begin van de Kasteellaan. De uitvoering in neo-classicistische architectuur was ongetwijfeld bedoeld om aan te sluiten bij de stijlkeuze van de verbouwde voorgevel van het Huis Singraven (De Maaker 1923).
Omschrijving
De poortwoningen zijn over één bouwlaag opgetrokken in rode baksteen onder een met grijze Hollandse pannen gedekt lichtgeknikt schilddak, op een rechthoekige plattegrond boven een zandstenen plint. Tussen de zandstenen geblokte hoeklisenen zijn de gevels geleed door vierentwintigruits schuifvensters onder strekken. Boven de gevels steekt een geprofileerde gootlijst over. De hoofdingang is midden in de lange gevel aan de Kasteellaan geplaatst tussen twee vensters. De voordeur wordt omlijst door gladde pilasters voor bloklisenen, waarboven een kroonlijst een ovaal venster in een lijst met cartouches ondersteunt. De zijgevels zijn door twee vensters geleed. Centraal en hoog in de achtergevel is een klein staand ovaal negenruits venster met vier sierstenen geplaatst. In de rechter (westelijke) poortwoning bevindt zich rechts van dit ovale venster een deur en links een venster. De achtergevel van de linker (oostelijke) poortwoning is gespiegeld aan die van de rechter. De deur is voorzien van een zesruits getoogd venster en geplaatst onder een negenruits bovenlicht. In de dakvlakken aan zowel de achterkant als de Kasteellaan zijn houten dakkapellen met ellipsboogfronton geplaatst, op de nok bekronen twee schoorstenen met ijzeren decoratie het geheel. De frontons van de dakkapellen aan de Kasteellaan zijn voorzien van houtsnijwerk.
Waardering
De poortwoningen zijn van algemeen cultuur-, architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang:
- vanwege de ruimtelijke en functionele relatie met de overige onderdelen van het landgoed Singraven
- als zeer laat voorbeeld van classicistische architectuur
- als ensemble (met het toegangshek) dat het begin van de Kasteellaan markeert.

Introduction
Two identical GATE LODGES from 1937, by the architect Andries de Maaker, belonging to the country estate Singraven. The gate lodges are situated on either side of the entrance gate (monument number 508938) at the beginning of the Kasteellaan. The execution in neo-classicist architecture was undoubtedly intended to align with the style choice of the remodelled front facade of Huis Singraven (De Maaker 1923).
Description
The gate lodges are built on one storey in red brick under a hipped roof covered with grey pantiles, on a rectangular ground plan above a sandstone plinth. Between sandstone ashlar corner lisenes the facades are articulated by twenty-four-light sash windows under sills. Above the facades projects a moulded cornice. The main entrance is placed in the middle of the long facade on the Kasteellaan between two windows. The front door is framed by smooth pilasters on ashlar lisenes, above which a cornice supports an oval window in a frame with cartouches. The side facades are articulated by two windows. Centrally and high in the rear facade is a small standing oval nine-light window with four ornamental stones placed. In the right (western) gate lodge to the right of this oval window is a door and to the left a window. The rear facade of the left (eastern) gate lodge is mirrored to that of the right. The door is provided with a six-light arched window and placed under a nine-light fanlight. In the roof slopes on both the rear and Kasteellaan wooden roof dormers with ellipse arch pediment are placed, on the ridge two chimneys with iron decoration crown the whole. The pediments of the roof dormers on the Kasteellaan are furnished with wood carving.

The gate lodges are of general cultural, architectural-historical and urban planning importance:
