Inleiding
Watertoren, in 1894 gebouwd door de N.V. Vlissingsche Duinwaterleiding en uitgevoerd in Neo-Renaissance stijl.
Omschrijving
Watertoren met conische schacht en uitkragende, achthoekige reservoirommanteling met achtkantig puntdak en bekroning. De toren is grotendeels opgetrokken in roodbruine baksteen en rijk voorzien van natuurstenen details. De toren heeft rondom een plint van rustica-achtige blokken met daarboven een baan grijs-zwarte baksteen. Op de begane grond houten vensters onder gemetselde rondboog. Ingang met rijke natuurstenen omlijsting van onder meer gecanneleerde, ionische pilasters, boogfries, consoles en fronton bekroond door obelisk. Bewerkte dubbele houten deur met gedeeld halfrond bovenlicht ondergemetselde rondboog.
De schacht is voorts onder meer voorzien van diverse rechthoekige kozijnen met gemetselde mozaieken in de boogtrommels, diverse verdiepte muurvelden al of niet met vensters, en een reeks halfronde vensters.
De uitkragende reservoirommanteling wordt ondersteund door gietijzeren consoles, verbonden door een boogfries onder de uitkraging.
De achthoekige reservoirommanteling is onder meer voorzien van verdiepte; getoogde muurvelden met rechthoekige vensters en aan de bovenzijde een boogfries en een kroonlijst.
Het achtkantige dak is gedekt met leien in maasdekking en voorzien van enkele dakkapellen in chaletstijl.
De toren wordt bekroond door een open, achthoekige lantaarn met een met zink beklede, uivormige torenhelm.
De toren is voorzien van een ijzeren Intze reservoir.
De toren is tegenwoordig (grotendeels) als woning in gebruik.

Water tower with conical shaft and cantilevered, octagonal reservoir cladding with octagonal pointed roof and crowning. The tower is largely constructed in reddish-brown brick and richly provided with natural stone details. The tower has a plinth all around of rustication-like blocks with above it a band of grey-black brick. On the ground floor wooden windows under a moulded round arch. Entrance with rich natural stone surround comprising among others fluted, Ionic pilasters, arch frieze, consoles and pediment crowned by obelisk. Worked double wooden door with divided round fanlight under moulded round arch.
The shaft is furthermore provided among others with various rectangular windows with moulded mosaics in the arch drums, various recessed wall panels with or without windows, and a series of semi-circular windows.
The cantilevered reservoir cladding is supported by cast-iron consoles, connected by an arch frieze under the cantilever.
The octagonal reservoir cladding is among others provided with recessed, arched wall panels with rectangular windows and at the top an arch frieze and a cornice.
The octagonal roof is clad with slates in Maas bond and provided with a few roof dormers in chalet style.
The tower is crowned by an open, octagonal lantern with a zinc-clad, egg-shaped roof finial.
The tower is provided with an iron Intze reservoir.
