Inleiding
In 1890 gaf de heer F. Labouchère opdracht deze villa te bouwen op een stuk grond langs de noordzijde van de Dorpsstraat. De architect is niet bekend. De villa heeft in de jaren twintig en dertig als hotel gefunctioneerd onder de naam `Hoogenoord'. In 1921 is hiervoor door bouwkundige en aannemer N. Tinbergen een verbouwing uitgevoerd. Deze verbouwing bestond onder meer uit het bouwen van een nieuwe ingang met vestibule en garderobe, het bouwen van een veranda tegen de rechter zijgevel. Tegen de voorgevel werd aan de linkerzijde een driezijdige erker met balkon gebouwd. Genoemde verbouwingen en aanpassingen zijn in de stijl van het huis uitgevoerd en hebben geen storende invloed gehad op het exterieur.
Interieurelementen en indeling is in de loop der jaren veranderd.
Omschrijving
Een enigszins schuin aan de Dorpsstraat gelegen VILLA in eclectische stijl met invloeden uit de neorenaissance en châletstijl. De villa is deels onderkelderd en heeft twee bouwlagen op nagenoeg rechthoekige plattegrond, met in- en uitspringende geveldelen, onder een met leien in maasdekking gedekt samengesteld, afgeplat en uitzwenkend schilddak. Het dakoverstek wordt door schoren ondersteund. De zich aan twee zijden bevindende topgevels zijn versierd met houten schoorwerkconstructies die in de nok worden bekroond met een driezijdig kapje met piron. De uit gele baksteen gemetselde gevels hebben een gemetselde plint met gebosseerde hoekaccenten. De gevels zijn versierd met natuurstenen, geprofileerde cordonbanden, dito speklagen in de eerste bouwlaag en hoeklisenen die voorzien zijn van lang gerekte diamantkoppen. Tussen de eerste en tweede bouwlaag bevindt zich een fries dat aan de voor- en rechtergevel met casementen, consoles en trigliefen met guttae is verfraaid.
De asymmetrische ingedeelde gevels bevatten overwegend twee en drielichts vensters met schuiframen en een natuurstenen middenstijl, gevat in gebiljoende natuurstenen omlijsting. De vensters in de tweede bouwlaag zijn voorzien van gemetselde, getoogde ontlastingsbogen met knopmotieven, waaronder boogvelden met siermetselwerk zijn aangebracht. De voorgevel aan de Dorpsstraatzijde heeft links een voorsprong van twee vensterassen breed, waarvoor een driezijdige erker met balkon is gezet. Het balkon heeft een rijk versierde borstwering met krulwerk en cartouches. De natuurstenen hekpijlers zijn versierd met diamantkoppen, waarop een gedecoreerd bolelement is gezet.
De achtergevel heeft rechts een voorsprong, waarvoor oorspronkelijk een ommuurd terras lag. Dit terras is in 1921 bij het huis getrokken ten behoeve van een nieuwe ingang met vestibule en garderobe. De ingangspartij rechts, bestaat uit een aan twee zijden met een rondboog opengewerkte portiek die in de buitenhoek door een natuurstenen zuil worden gedragen. Aan de gevelzijden rust de boog op een natuurstenen kraagsteen. De zuil heeft aan de voet een fries met neorenaissance decoraties. Hierboven bevindt zich een balkon met een gemetselde borstwering.
De rechter zijgevel is twee vensterassen breed en heeft rechts een topgevel met voorsprong en een rechthoekige erker met balkon. De borstwering van het balkon is conform de borstwering van het balkon in de voorgevel. Links is een houten veranda met een glazen afdak dat door pijlers wordt ondersteund en op gesneden schoren rust. Tussen de pijlers is aan de voet een houten hekwerk gezet.
De linkerzijgevel heeft links een voorsprong van drie vensterassen breed. De terugliggende gevel rechts is blind.
Het perceel waar de villa op staat is ingericht als tuin met een gazon, waarop enkele bomen zijn geplant. De openheid van de tuin biedt vanaf de openbare weg vrij zicht op de villa. Het geheel vormt een karakteristieke entree tot de oude kern van de gemeente Doorn. De villa is via een oprijlaan te bereiken. Twee hekpijlers, vermoedelijk stammend uit de jaren dertig, vormen de entree aan de Dorpsstraatzijde. De oprijlaan loopt achter het huis langs en verlaat het perceel aan de Middenlaanzijde, die tegenwoordig als hoofdingang fungeert.
Waardering

Description
A villa in eclectic style somewhat obliquely positioned on the Dorpsstraat with influences from neorenaissence and chalet style. The villa is partly cellared and has two storeys on a roughly rectangular plan, with projecting and recessed facade elements, under a compound hipped roof covered with slates in Maas-bond pattern, flattened and projecting outward. The roof overhang is supported by struts. The gabled ends located on two sides are decorated with wooden bracing constructions crowned at the ridge with a three-sided roof cap with finial. The facades built of yellow brickwork have a mortared plinth with rusticated corner accents. The facades are decorated with natural stone, profiled band courses, ditto speckle layers in the first storey and corner pilasters provided with elongated diamond motifs. Between the first and second storey is a frieze decorated on the front and right facade with corbels, console brackets and triglyphs with guttae.
The asymmetrically arranged facades contain predominantly two and three-light windows with sash windows and a natural stone central mullion, set in rebated natural stone framing. The windows in the second storey are provided with mortared arched relieving arches with button motifs, beneath which arch fields with decorative brickwork are applied. The front facade on the Dorpsstraat side has on the left a projecting section two window bays wide, in front of which a three-sided bay with balcony is positioned. The balcony has a richly decorated parapet with scrollwork and cartouches. The natural stone gate pillars are decorated with diamond motifs, upon which a decorated ball finial is placed.
The rear facade has on the right a projecting section, in front of which originally a walled terrace lay. This terrace was incorporated into the house in 1921 for the purposes of a new entrance with vestibule and cloakroom. The entrance section on the right consists of a round-arched open porch on two sides supported in the outer corner by a natural stone column. On the facade sides the arch rests on a natural stone corbel. The column has at its base a frieze with neorenaissence decorations. Above this is a balcony with a mortared parapet.
The right side facade is two window bays wide and has on the right a gabled end with projecting section and a rectangular bay with balcony. The parapet of the balcony conforms to the parapet of the balcony in the front facade. On the left is a wooden veranda with a glazed roof supported by pillars and resting on cut struts.
