Inleiding
Vrijstaand woonhuis gebouwd in 1908 in opdracht van G. Dikkers. Het in Art Nouveau-stijl opgebouwde huis is een ontwerp van G. Otten Jzn. In opdracht van J.J. Kamps werd in 1941 het zuidelijke dakschild rechtgetrokken naar een verbouwplan van Otten. Vervolgens werd in 1965 door het architectenbureau Otten en Fransen een plan voor W.J. Wiersma gemaakt waarbij voor de achtergevel een wijziging onderging. De bescherming heeft betrekking op de hoofdmassa zoals dat vanaf de straat zichtbaar is.
Omschrijving
Asymmetrisch opgebouwd woonhuis met in de rooilijn een torenachtige massa over drie bouwlagen bekroond met een tentdak en een iets teruggerooid woongedeelte met twee bouwlagen en een afgeknot schilddak; beide kappen belegd met een geglazuurde tuile du nord; dakkapel in voorste dakschild. Gevelopbouw met hardstenen plint, drie lagen metselwerk en hardstenen afzaten, opgaand metselwerk afgewisseld met natuurstenen speklagen; uitkragende en van snijwerk voorziene goot op bewerkte consoles met daartussen een fries van gekleurd siermetselwerk. De torenachtige massa bestaat uit een portiek met drievoudig rondboogconstructie rustend op een hardstenen latei; wangen met geglazuurde tegels (groen; creme; groene profiellijst; gebroken wit met ruitvormige tegeltjes met bloemmotief in de hoeken); paneeldeur met snijwerk en smeedijzeren hekwerk voor venster; zij- en bovenlichten. Daarboven een loggia met hardstenen balkon; borstwering met balusters; vergelijkbare betegeling als beneden; aan voorzijde een hardstenen latei met daarboven drie rechtgesloten glas-in-lood ramen onder een hardstenen latei en een segmentboogvormige hanekam. De derde bouwlaag heeft een rechtgesloten venster voorzien van latei en hanekam. Het terugliggende gevelvlak heeft twee rechtgesloten vensters met hardstenen onderdorpel en latei alsmede neggeblokken en een segmentboogvormige hanekam. Verdieping met een drievoudig gekoppeld raam met vergelijkbare detaillering als beneden.

Introduction
Freestanding dwelling house built in 1908 commissioned by G. Dikkers. The house, constructed in Art Nouveau style, is a design by G. Otten Jzn. At the behest of J.J. Kamps, in 1941 the southern roof panel was straightened according to a conversion plan by Otten. Subsequently in 1965 the architectural practice Otten and Fransen drew up a plan for W.J. Wiersma whereby the rear facade underwent modification. The protection relates to the principal mass as it is visible from the street.
Description
Asymmetrically constructed dwelling house with in the building line a tower-like mass over three storeys crowned with a tent roof and a slightly set-back residential section with two storeys and a truncated hipped roof; both roofs covered with glazed tuile du nord; roof dormer in front roof panel. Gable construction with hard stone plinth, three layers of brickwork and hard stone offsets, ascending brickwork alternated with natural stone bands; overhanging and carved gutter on worked consoles with between them a frieze of coloured ornamental brickwork. The tower-like mass consists of a portico with triple semicircular arch construction resting on a hard stone lintel; sides with glazed tiles (green; cream; green profiled moulding; broken white with diamond-shaped tiles with flower motif in the corners); panel door with carving and wrought-iron railings for window; side- and fanlights. Above this a loggia with hard stone balcony; balustrade with balusters; comparable tiling as below; at the front a hard stone lintel with above it three closed leaded-glass windows under a hard stone lintel and a segmental arch-shaped hanekam. The third storey has a closed rectangular window provided with lintel and hanekam. The set-back gable field has two closed rectangular windows with hard stone window sill and lintel as well as nine-block projections and a segmental arch-shaped hanekam. First floor with a triple coupled window with comparable detailing as below.
Valuation
Dwelling house of architectural-historical and urban-planning significance due to the design, the use of materials as well as due to the oeuvre of the architect and due to the characterising position in the street frontage of the Zuideinde (component of a valuable urban townscape).
