Inleiding
Aan de oostzijde van de niet-beschermde begraafplaats ten noorden van de Katholieke kerk ligt een opgeworpen aardhoop met daarop een beeldengroep, een zogeheten CALVARIEBERG. Een dergelijke beeldengroep is typerend voor een Katholieke begraafplaats. De beelden zijn vervaardigd in 1926 door H. Moors te Kevelaer (Duitsland).
Op de opgeworpen aardhoop is een perk aangelegd, bestrooid met verschillende soorten breukstenen. Door middel van grote stenen die zijn gewit, is hierin een patroon gelegd en een opschrift. Aardhoop en perk vallen buiten de bescherming van rijkswege.
Omschrijving
De beeldengroep bestaat uit een voetstuk waarop drie afzonderlijke beelden staan: een gekruisigde Christus in het midden en aan weerszijden Maria en Johannes de Evangelist. Het betonnen voetstuk bootst een rotsbodem na en is geleed: het middendeel is hoger dan de zijkanten. In de geleding wordt verder de indruk gewekt dat ieder beeld op een eigen voetstuk staat. De beelden zijn gehouwen in natuursteen (muschelkalk of tufsteensoort) en staan op een sokkel.
Waardering
De Calvariegroep in 1926 gehouwen door H. Moors (Kevelaer), is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang:
- als oorspronkelijke en voor de begraafplaats bij de kerk vervaardigde beeldengroep,
- als exemplarisch voorbeeld van een dergelijke beeldengroep op een Friese Katholieke begraafplaats,
- vanwege de symbolische relatie met begraafplaats,
- vanwege de redelijke mate van zeldzaamheid van een Calvariegroep op regionaal niveau.

Introduction
On the east side of the unprotected cemetery to the north of the Catholic church lies an artificial mound with a group of sculptures on it, a so-called CALVARY. Such a group of sculptures is typical for a Catholic cemetery. The sculptures were made in 1926 by H. Moors at Kevelaer (Germany).
On the artificial mound a plot has been laid out, covered with various types of broken stone. By means of large stones that are whitewashed, a pattern and an inscription have been created in it. Mound and plot fall outside the protection of the national heritage.
Description
The group of sculptures consists of a pedestal on which three individual sculptures stand: a crucified Christ in the centre and on either side Mary and John the Evangelist. The concrete pedestal imitates a rocky base and is articulated: the central section is higher than the sides. In the articulation the impression is further created that each sculpture stands on its own pedestal. The sculptures are carved in natural stone (muschelkalk or tuff stone type) and stand on a plinth.
Assessment
The Calvary group carved in 1926 by H. Moors (Kevelaer), is of general cultural-historical importance:
- as an original group of sculptures made for the cemetery at the church,
- as an exemplary example of such a group of sculptures on a Frisian Catholic cemetery,
