Inleiding
Het van omstreeks 1875 daterende herenhuis is gebouwd als pastorie bij de ernaast staande, uit 1828 daterende Doopsgezinde kerk (apart monumentnummer 34592). Het huis, dat een gave 19e eeuwse voorgevel bezit, onderscheidt zich qua vormgeving en detaillering in niets van de in die periode gangbare eclectische woonhuisarchitectuur.
Omschrijving
De pastorie heeft een vier-assige voorgevel met luiken in de gepleisterde plint en een verdieping onder met Hollandse pannen gedekt samengesteld schilddak. De originele zesruits schuifvensters en de vleugeldeur met hardstenen drempel, stolpnaald en bovenlicht met middenstijl zijn licht getoogd en voorzien van profiellijsten met afgeronde bovenhoeken en lekdorpels met kleine hoekconsoles. De gevel wordt beëindigd door een gepleisterd entablement met ver uitkragende, geprofileerde houten kroonlijst. De rechter zijgevel heeft rechtgesloten vensters en een deur met bovenlicht, alsmede staafankers ter hoogte van de balklaag. De gevel is op de parterre gepleisterd en voorzien van schijnvoegen. Het huis is door middel van een dito gepleisterd tussenlid met plat dak verbonden met de vermaning. In de gepleisterde achtergevel een uit de jaren dertig daterende stalen deur- en vensterpartij, alsmede een originele houten deur met roedenverdeling in het bovenlicht. Het interieur is nog voor een deel in oorspronkelijke staat. In de gang bevindt zich een originele tochtdeur met gefacetteerd glas binnen een roedenverdeling. De voorste ruimte rechts van de entree is tevens toegankelijk via de deur in de zijgevel. Deze en de daarachter liggende ruimte werden oorspronkelijk gebruikt als portaal en vergaderruimte voor de kerkenraad.
Waardering
De pastorie is een mooi en vrij gaaf voorbeeld van karakteristieke, representatieve woonhuisarchitectuur in een sobere eclectische bouwstijl, waardoor het beeldbepalende pand van architectuur-historisch belang is.
Vanwege de oorspronkelijke functie is het cultuur-historisch van belang en door de situering in een vrijwel gesloten gevelwand in de oude binnenstad is het bovendien stedenbouwkundig van betekenis.

The manor house, dating from around 1875, was built as a parsonage adjoining the Mennonite church dating from 1828 (separate monument number 34592). The house, which possesses a well-preserved 19th-century front facade, distinguishes itself in no way by its design and detailing from the eclectic residential architecture current in that period.
Description
The parsonage has a four-bay front facade with shutters in the rendered plinth and one storey under a combined hipped roof covered with Dutch tiles. The original six-pane sash windows and the casement door with ashlar threshold, stanchion and fanlight with central mullion are slightly arched and provided with mouldings with rounded upper corners and drip mouldings with small corner consoles. The facade is terminated by a rendered entablature with far projecting, profiled wooden cornice. The right side facade has closed windows and a door with fanlight, as well as rod anchors at the height of the beam layer. The facade is rendered on the ground floor and provided with sham joints. The house is connected by means of a likewise rendered intermediate section with flat roof to the admonition. In the rendered rear facade a steel door and window arrangement dating from the nineteen-thirties, as well as an original wooden door with glazing bars in the fanlight. The interior is still partly in original condition. In the hallway there is an original draught door with faceted glass within a glazing bar pattern. The front room to the right of the entrance is also accessible via the door in the side facade. This and the room behind it were originally used as a vestry and meeting room for the church council.
Valuation
The parsonage is a fine and relatively intact example of characteristic, representative residential architecture in a sober eclectic style, whereby the visually defining building is of architectural-historical importance.
Because of its original function it is of cultural-historical importance and by its situation in an almost closed facade wall in the old city centre it is moreover of urban planning significance.
