Inleiding
PASTORIE uit omstreeks 1875, behorende bij de Hervormde Kerk uit 1839 die reeds rijksbescherming geniet onder monumentnr. 21390 (adres kerk: Nieuwe Kerkplein 2 te Den Helder). De pastorie is gesitueerd aan de westzijde van de Weststraat en is via een tussenbouw verbonden met de kerk. De erker aan de linkerzijgevel dateert uit 1932.
N.B. Omstreeks 1940 is de oorspronkelijke kap (met schilddak) vervangen door een plat dak. De oorspronkelijke houten T-vensters in de voorgevel werden in 1989 vervangen. Op de begane grondverdieping zijn negenruits schuifvensters aangebracht. De aanbouw aan de achterzijde valt niet onder de bescherming.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekig grondplan gebouwde pastorie, bestaande uit drie bouwlagen -begane grond, verdieping en een mezzanino- onder plat dak. De lengterichting van het pand staat loodrecht op de Weststraat. Het pand is opgetrokken in rode baksteen, de voorgevel boven een hardstenen plint. De stoeptreden zijn eveneens van hardsteen. Het pand wordt afgesloten door een omlopende zeer eenvoudig geprofileerde houten gootlijst. Tenzij anders vermeld, waren de vensters in oorsprong getoogde houten T-vensters, voorzien van houten lekdorpels.
De symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel (O) is drie vensterassen breed, waarvan de twee linkerassen op de begane grond een getoogd venster bevatten, de rechteras de voordeur, bestaande uit een paneeldeur met getoogd bovenlicht. De eerste verdieping heeft in elke vensteras een getoogd venster. De mezzanino heeft drie kleine liggende getoogde vensters. Alle vensters en de deur worden omlijst door een gestucte architraaf met kuif. Onder de vensters van de eerste verdieping en die van de mezzanino is een eenvoudige waterlijst aangebracht.
De rechterzijgevel (N) is blind. Rechtsachter bevindt zich de tussenbouw, die pastorie met kerk verbindt. De tussenbouw bestaat uit een bakstenen bouwvolume van één bouwlaag op rechthoekig grondplan, afgesloten door een schilddak met zwarte Hollandse pannen. De noklijn staat loodrecht op de Weststraat. Plint, stoep en lekdorpel zijn van hardsteen. De voorgevel is twee vensterassen breed, waarvan de linker een rechthoekig houten schuifvenster met meerruits roedenverdeling bevat en de rechter een paneeldeur met bovenlicht. In het bovenlicht is een eenvoudige ijzeren levensboom aangebracht.
De achtergevel (W) heeft een breedte van drie vensterassen en heeft een vergelijkbare opbouw en indeling als de voorgevel. De gestucte vensterarchitraven met kuiven en de waterlijsten onder de vensters ontbreken hier echter.
De linkerzijgevel (Z) is blind op een erker na. De erker heeft een rechthoekig grondplan en is één bouwlaag hoog. De erker is opgetrokken in houten stijl- en regelwerk boven een bakstenen plint. Tussen stijl- en regelwerk zijn rechthoekige vensters aangebracht met meeruits bovenlichten. De erker heeft een overstekende houten gootlijst op consoles en wordt afgesloten door een half schilddak met een dakbedekking van bitumen.

Description
Parsonage built on a rectangular floor plan, consisting of three storeys - ground floor, first floor and a mezzanine - under a flat roof. The length direction of the building is perpendicular to the Weststraat. The building is constructed in red brick, the front facade above a sandstone plinth. The steps are also of sandstone. The building is closed off by a continuous, very simply profiled wooden cornice. Unless otherwise stated, the windows were originally arched wooden T-windows, provided with wooden drip mouldings.
The symmetrically arranged front facade (E) is three window bays wide, of which the two left bays on the ground floor contain an arched window, the right bay contains the front door, consisting of a panelled door with an arched fanlight. The first floor has an arched window in each window bay. The mezzanine has three small horizontal arched windows. All windows and the door are framed by a stuccoed architrave with hood moulding. Below the windows of the first floor and those of the mezzanine a simple drip moulding has been applied.
The right side facade (N) is blind. To the right at the rear is the intermediate structure, which connects the parsonage to the church. The intermediate structure consists of a brick building volume of one storey on a rectangular floor plan, closed off by a hipped roof with black Dutch tiles. The roof ridge is perpendicular to the Weststraat. Plinth, step and drip moulding are of sandstone. The front facade is two window bays wide, of which the left contains a rectangular wooden sash window with multi-pane glazing bars and the right contains a panelled door with fanlight. In the fanlight a simple iron tree of life has been installed.
The rear facade (W) has a width of three window bays and has a similar structure and arrangement as the front facade. The stuccoed window architraves with hood mouldings and the drip mouldings below the windows are however absent here.
The left side facade (Z) is blind except for a bay window. The bay window has a rectangular floor plan and is one storey high. The bay window is constructed in wooden post and beam work above a brick plinth. Between the post and beam work rectangular windows have been installed with multi-pane fanlights. The bay window has an overhanging wooden cornice on consoles and is closed off by a half-hipped roof with bitumen roof covering.
Valuation
The building is of general cultural and architectural historical importance as a largely well-preserved example of a parsonage constructed in the eclectic building style from the second half of the 19th century. The parsonage has ensemble value with the adjacent church (Nieuwe Kerkplein 2).
