Inleiding
TOEGANGSPARTIJ, bestaande uit twee pijlers, daterend uit omstreeks 1863. De twee toegangspijlers staan op de westoever van het Afsluitingskanaal, aan weerszijden van de westelijke hoofdingang van het complex Rijkswerf Willemsoord. Vermoedelijk werden de pijlers gelijktijdig met de dubbele basculebrug in 1863 gebouwd.
Omschrijving
Toegangspartij, bestaande uit twee, op vierkant grondplan opgetrokken, bakstenen pijlers. De pijlers staan op een met cement aangestreken voet. Met het metselwerk wordt een stapeling van grote blokken geïmiteerd. Aan de brugzijde van de pijlers zijn hardstenen blokken aangebracht, waaraan in oorsprong een ijzeren toegangshek was bevestigd. De bakstenen schacht van de pijlers wordt afgedekt door een geprofileerde natuurstenen dekplaat. De pijlers worden bekroond door een natuurstenen leeuw op een eigen voetstuk. De voorpoten van de leeuw rusten op een natuurstenen bol.
Waardering
De gaaf bewaard gebleven toegangspartij, bestaande uit twee pijlers, is van algemeen belang als historisch onderdeel van het complex Rijkswerf Willemsoord.

ACCESS GATEWAY, consisting of two pillars, dating from around 1863. The two entrance pillars stand on the west bank of the Afsluitingskanaal, on either side of the western main entrance of the Rijkswerf Willemsoord complex. The pillars were presumably built at the same time as the double bascule bridge in 1863.
Description
Access gateway consisting of two brick pillars constructed on a square ground plan. The pillars stand on a base sealed with cement. The masonry imitates a stacking of large blocks. On the bridge side of the pillars, hardstone blocks have been installed, to which an iron entrance gate was originally attached. The brick shaft of the pillars is topped with a moulded natural stone capping plate. The pillars are crowned by a natural stone lion on its own pedestal. The front paws of the lion rest on a natural stone sphere.
Valuation
The well-preserved access gateway, consisting of two pillars, is of general importance as a historical component of the Rijkswerf Willemsoord complex.
