Inleiding
Blok van vier herenhuizen uit ca. 1895, in eclectische stijl gebouwd. Het blok is in één keer gebouwd, maar de huizen verschillen onderling.
Omschrijving
Herenhuizen twee bouwlagen hoog met kelder- en kapverdieping.
Zadeldak gedekt met leien in maasdekking aan voorzijde en met pannen aan achterzijde.
Panden voornamelijk opgebouwd uit roodbruine baksteen; veelvuldig voorzien van gepleisterde waterlijsten, speklagen, blokken, afdekplaten; muurankers. Buitenste twee panden met lijstgevels, hier en daar verspringend; middelste twee panden voorzien van trapgevel of topgevel in combinatie met lijstgevel.
Kelderverdiepingen met gekoppelde, lage vensters. Begane grond met houten kozijnen, vnl. met schuiframen; vensteropeningen afgesloten door bogen met metselwerk in boogtrommels; terugspringende ingangspartijen verschillend uitgevoerd met bovenlichten, originele houten paneeldeuren. Op verdiepingen houten vensters, veelal schuiframen. No. 27 met balkon op consoles; no. 29 met bij twee rechter traveeën (van de vijf) lichtuitkragend, twee venstertraveeën brede trapgevel, met een venster in top en dwarskapje; no. 31 met bij middelste van de drie traveeën uitkragend gedeelte op consoles met tuitgevel en venster in top en dwarskapje. Overige panden voorzien van diverse dakkapellen.
Achtergevels sober met diverse vensters en aanpassingen.
Interieurs over het algemeen aangepast, met uitzondering van no. 33. Loskade 33 met rijk interieur uit eind 19e eeuw met onder meer op hoofdverdieping stucplafonds, schouwen, kamers en suite met schuifdeuren; origineel trappenhuis naar eerste en tweede verdieping. No. 29 geheel aangepast, behalve voorkamer waar nog beschilderd plafond met onder meer gekleurde fruit- en bloemmotieven en originele schouw resteren.
Waardering
Herenhuizen, voornamelijk vanwege exterieur van cultuur- en architectuurhistorisch belang. Van belang vanwege ensemblewaarden en gaafheid.

Basement storeys with coupled, low windows. Ground floor with wooden frames, mainly with sash windows; window openings closed off by arches with masonry in arch drums; recessed entrance sections differently executed with fanlights, original wooden panel doors. On upper storeys wooden windows, mostly sash windows. No. 27 with balcony on consoles; no. 29 with at two right bays (of the five) projecting stepped gable two window bays wide, with a window at top and cross roof; no. 31 with at middle of the three bays projecting section on consoles with spout gable and window at top and cross roof. Other buildings furnished with various roof dormers.
Rear facades sober with various windows and alterations.
Interiors generally altered, with the exception of no. 33. Loskade 33 with rich interior from late 19th century with among others on main storey stucco ceilings, fireplaces, en suite rooms with sliding doors; original staircase to first and second storey. No. 29 entirely altered, except front room where painted ceiling with among others coloured fruit and flower motifs and original fireplace remain.
Valuation
Mansions, principally due to exterior of cultural and architectural-historical importance. Important due to ensemble values and integrity.
