Omgracht en door windsingels omgeven voorterrein met landschapstuin uit 1832 en achterterrein met restanten van slingerpaden (2a), gedeeltelijk met (jonge) linden beplante oprijlaan (2b), met (oude) knotlinden beplante oost-west lopende laan (2c) en met (jonge) linden beplant kerkepad (2d).
Ad 2a: in het VOORTERREIN is voor en ten westen van het huis in 1832, vermoedelijk naar ontwerp van L.P. Roodbaard, een compacte maar door het licht geaccidenteerde terrein zeer ruimtelijk werkende landschapstuin gerealiseerd. De aanleg bestaat uit het voor Roodbaard karakteristieke patroon van ovale en niervormige iets bolliggende gazons en perken met sierheesters en eenjarigen, verbonden door iets verdiept liggende slingerpaden met schelpenverharding. Daarbinnen staan enkele solitaire bomen en boogroepen. In het zuidoostelijk deel staan nog enkele oude hoogstamfruitbomen. Een opvallend element is de kwartcirkelvormige beukenhaag met daarbinnen een opgaande beuk. In het bijna cirkelvormige perk voor het huis staat eveneens een opgaande beuk. Daar de zuidzijde geen afsluitende singelbeplanting kent, is er vanaf de Harstawei en de oprijlaan vrij zicht op de tuin. Voor het overige zijn er als gevolg van de aanwezigheid van bosschages en singelbeplanting geen vrije doorzichten. De tuin is omstreeks 1992 gerestaureerd.
Het volledig omgrachte ACHTERREIN, dat thans in gebruik is als schapewei, wordt voor ongeveer de helft in beslag genomen door een hoogstamboomgaard. In de boomgaard is nog enig relief te herkennen dat wijst op een vroeger patroon van slingerpaden, zoals ook te zien is op de Topographisch Militaire Kaart van 1854. Via een nu verdwenen brug sloot deze aanleg, waarvan de datering onbekend is, vermoedelijk aan op de landschapstuin voor en ten westen van het huis.
2b-d: de (thans gedeeltelijk) met (jonge) linden beplante OPRIJLAAN (2b), de met (oude) knotlinden beplante OOST-WEST lopende laan (2c) en het met (jonge) linden beplante KERKEPAD (2d).
Waardering
Voor- en achterterrein, landschapstuin, twee lanen en een kerkepad behorende bij de historische buitenplaats Harsta State van algemeen tuinhistorisch belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege de geslaagde combinatie van een kenmerkende 17de-eeuwse state-structuur met lanen en kerkepad met een landschapstuin uit 1832;
- vanwege het kenmerkende vroeg-19de-eeuwse karakter van de landschapstuin uit 1832, de tuinhistorische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp en de mogelijke betrokkenheid daarbij van L.P. Roodbaard;

Fore- and rear ground surrounded by a moat and landscape belts, with landscape garden from 1832 and rear ground with remains of winding paths (2a), partially with (young) lime-tree lined drive (2b), with (old) pollard lime-tree lined east-west running avenue (2c) and with (young) lime-tree planted church path (2d).
Re 2a: in the FOREGROUND, before and to the west of the house, in 1832, presumably designed by L.P. Roodbaard, a compact but spatially very effective landscape garden due to the slightly undulating terrain was realised. The layout consists of the pattern characteristic for Roodbaard of oval and kidney-shaped slightly convex lawns and beds with ornamental shrubs and annuals, connected by slightly sunken winding paths with shell surfacing. Within this stand several solitary trees and tree groups. In the south-eastern part there are still some old standard fruit trees. A striking element is the quarter-circle shaped beech hedge with an upright beech within it. In the almost circular bed in front of the house there is also an upright beech. Since the south side lacks an enclosing belt planting, there is a clear view of the garden from the Harstawei and the drive. Otherwise, as a result of the presence of copses and belt planting, there are no free vistas. The garden was restored around 1992.
The completely moated REAR GROUND, currently in use as sheep pasture, is occupied for approximately half its area by a standard-tree orchard. In the orchard some relief can still be recognised indicating a former pattern of winding paths, as also seen on the Topographical Military Map of 1854. Via a now vanished bridge this layout, of which the dating is unknown, presumably connected to the landscape garden before and to the west of the house.
