Omschrijving
Omschrijving onderdeel 2: (bij Straatweg 17; op de bijbehorende kaart aangegeven met nr.2) HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats Herteveld. Deels in structuur en deels in detail bewaarde 19de-eeuwse aanleg in landschapsstijl gelegen binnen een 17de-eeuwse rechthoekige slotenstructuur. De sloot aan de voorzijde heeft een segmentvormig verloop, dat is afgewerkt met randen van staande dakpannen. Vanaf de Straatweg en de Vecht een open zicht op het huis. De rondvormige aanleg in landschapsstijl voor het huis met aan weerszijde een bomenrij, zoals te zien is op de lithografie van Lutgers (1836), is thans nog aanwezig. Het open karakter is iets verloren gegaan door de dichtere begroeiing aan de kant van de Vecht, maar de zichtas over de Vecht naar het weiland aan de overzijde is bewaard gebleven. De zeventiende-eeuwse hoofdas van de aanleg wordt gevormd door de rechte met eiken beplante toegangslaan en parallel daaraan een sloot met links de dwarsas naar het huis en rechts naar het koetshuis. Ter zijde van het huis een kleine sieraanleg, die vanwege zijn recente datum voor de bescherming van ondergeschikte betekenis is. De aanleg in vroege landschapsstijl achter het huis, welke wellicht omstreeks de verbouwing van het huis in 1804 tot stand is gekomen, ligt door de gedeelde bewoning van het huis en de bouw van een bungalow enigszins geïsoleerd. Toch is de visuele samenhang vanuit het landschapspark, door een zicht op het huis, nog duidelijk zichtbaar. De serpentinevijver slingert zich door het parkgedeelte en mondt uit in een ronde vijver. In het midden van de vijver een rond eilandje. Er zijn door de dichte begroeiing geen duidelijke zichten naar buiten toe. Langs de Zijlweg staat een meidoornhaag; verder in de aanleg achter het huis zeer oude buxusboompjes.
Waardering HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de buitenplaats Herteveld van algemeen belang: - vanwege de 17de-eeuwse slotenstructuur; - vanwege de aanleg in vroege landschapsstijl, waarvan een groot deel gaaf bewaard is gebleven; - vanwege de functioneel-ruimtelijke relatie met de andere onderdelen van de buitenplaats.

Description of component 2: (at Straatweg 17; indicated on the accompanying map with no.2) HISTORICAL GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the country estate Herteveld. Partly in structure and partly in detail preserved 19th-century layout in landscape style situated within a 17th-century rectangular ditch structure. The ditch on the front has a segment-shaped course, which is finished with edges of standing roof tiles. From the Straatweg and the Vecht an open view of the house. The circular layout in landscape style in front of the house with on either side a row of trees, as seen in the lithograph by Lutgers (1836), is still present. The open character has somewhat been lost through denser planting on the side of the Vecht, but the sight line over the Vecht towards the meadow on the opposite side has been preserved. The seventeenth-century main axis of the layout is formed by the straight avenue planted with oaks and parallel to it a ditch with on the left the cross-axis towards the house and on the right towards the coach house. To the side of the house a small ornamental layout, which on account of its recent date is of subsidiary importance for the protection.
