Inleiding
Westelijk van het entreepad tot de kerk geplaatst 19de eeuws grafmonument in neo-gotische trant van de familie Onghena-Van Haelst.
Omschrijving
Het geheel natuurstenen monument bestaat uit een staand monument met zowel aan de voorzijde als aan de achterzijde tableaus met inscriptie. Het tableau aan de voorzijde is gevat tussen gecanneleerde pilasters. Het monument bezit een top in de vorm van een tudorboog met in het boogveld een reliëf, voorstellend een gevleugelde zandloper en een fries van leliedecoraties. Aan de achterzijde bevindt zich een mogelijk ouder,vrijwel onleesbaar tableau. Voor het monument een liggende zerk, hetgeheel omgeven door een eenvoudig ijzeren hekwerk.

Grafmonument van algemeen belang vanwege ensemblewaarde als visueel belangrijk element aan het dorpsplein, tevens van belang als karakteristiek complexonderdeel.

Placed to the west of the entrance path to the church, 19th century funerary monument in Neo-Gothic style of the Onghena-Van Haelst family.
Description
The entirely natural stone monument consists of a standing monument with tableaus with inscription on both the front and the rear. The tableau on the front is set between fluted pilasters. The monument has a top in the form of a Tudor arch with in the spandrel a relief, representing a winged hourglass and a frieze of lily decorations. On the rear is a possibly older, almost illegible tableau. In front of the monument a recumbent stone, the whole surrounded by a simple iron railing.
Valuation
Funerary monument of general importance due to ensemble value as visually important element at the village green, furthermore of importance as characteristic complex component.
