Inleiding
Groep van in totaal acht halfopen kapellen welke in 1888, onder invloeden neo-gotiek en Vlaamse stijl, gebouwd zijn op het kerkterrein oostelijk van en achter de kerk. De processiegang vormde, samen met de verdwenen "Lourdesgrot" een onderdeel van de Mariaverering in dit bedevaartsoord. De groep bestaat uit zeven kleinere kapellen en één grotere kapel.
Omschrijving
De zeven kleine kapellen zijn in een boog ten oosten van de kerk gegroepeerd. De kapellen hebben een nagenoeg vierkante plattegrond en zijn opgetrokken uit rode baksteen. De voorgevels, in de vorm van een topgeveltje met spitsboogvormige opening, zijn voorzien van natuurstenen geveldekstenen, boogblokjes en speklagen. De kapellen zijn voorzien van een, met leien gedekt, zadeldakje. Het geveltopje wordt bekroond door een zandstenen kruis.
De kapellen zijn aan de binnenzijde voorzien van gevarieerd uitgevoerd tegelwerk in lambrizering en vloeren. De tegels vormen een rijke staalkaart van historische motieven. In een aantal kapellen missen gedeelten van het tegelwerk. Achter in de kapel een gemetselde sokkel met gipsen beeld. De ruimte is voorts voorzien van een gestuct tongewelfje en een afsluiting in de vorm van een halfhoog ijzeren hekje.
De achtste, grotere kapel bevindt zich achter het koor van de kerk en is groter en breder dan de overige. Deze onderscheidt zich voorts door het bijzondere tegelwerk en de bewerkte onderdelen van de sokkel. De topgevel wordt bekroond door een ijzeren kruis.
Tegen de rugzijde van deze grotere kapel bevindt zich een staande natuurstenen gedenkplaat, behorend bij een priestergraf, vervaardigd door Dubois te Gent.

Group of a total of eight semi-open chapels which were built in 1888, under the influences of Neo-Gothic and Flemish style, on the church grounds to the east of and behind the church. The processional way formed, together with the disappeared "Lourdes grotto", a component of the veneration of Mary at this pilgrimage site. The group consists of seven smaller chapels and one larger chapel.
Description
The seven small chapels are grouped in an arc to the east of the church. The chapels have an approximately square ground plan and are constructed of red brick. The front facades, in the form of a pointed gable with pointed-arch-shaped opening, are provided with natural stone gable coping stones, arch blocks and speckled courses. The chapels are provided with a gabled roof covered with slate. The gable top is crowned by a sandstone cross.
The chapels are provided on the interior with varied executed tilework in wainscoting and floors. The tiles form a rich sample of historical motifs. In a number of chapels parts of the tilework are missing. At the back of the chapel a mortared plinth with plaster image. The space is furthermore provided with a stuccoed barrel vault and a closure in the form of a half-height iron gate.
The eighth, larger chapel is located behind the choir of the church and is larger and wider than the rest. This furthermore distinguishes itself by the special tilework and the worked components of the plinth. The gable top is crowned by an iron cross.
Against the rear side of this larger chapel is a standing natural stone memorial plaque, belonging to a priest's grave, made by Dubois at Gent.
