Omschrijving
Wachthuis, rond 1872 met invloed van eclecticisme gebouwd bij de kleine schutsluis.
In roodbruine baksteen opgetrokken, op rechthoekige plattegrond; één bouwlaag met kapverdieping; siermetselwerk, o.a. raamomlijstingen, banden en kruismotieven, in gele baksteen; gepleisterde plint; muurankers in oost- en westgevel.
Voorzijde (kanaalzijde) met symmetrische gevelindeling: centrale houten deur met getoogde, strakke, gepleisterde omlijsting; aan weerszijden getoogde, 3x2 ruits schuiframen met natuurstenen vensterbanken. Noordelijke kopgevel met rechthoekig, vernieuwd venster in de top binnen een in gele baksteen gemetselde cirkel en op begane grond een blind, later dichtgemetseld venster. Achtergevel met zelfde indeling als voorgevel, maar eenvoudigere, gewijzigde ingangspartij. Zuidelijke kopgevel zelfde als noordelijke.
Overhangend zadeldak met gesmoorde pannen; strakke windveren.

Watchhouse, built around 1872 with eclectic influence at the small navigation lock.
Built of reddish-brown brick, on rectangular plan; one storey with attic storey; decorative brickwork, including window surrounds, bands and cross motifs, in yellow brick; plastered plinth; ornamental wall anchors in east and west facades.
Front (canal side) with symmetrical facade layout: central wooden door with arched, neat, plastered surround; on either side arched, 3x2 pane sash windows with natural stone windowsills. Northern gable end with rectangular, renewed window at the top within a circle of yellow brick and on the ground floor a blind, later filled-in window. Rear facade with same layout as front facade, but simpler, altered entrance section. Southern gable end same as northern.
Overhang gabled roof with smothered tiles; neat wind braces.

Watchhouse of typological value and of value as part of the lock complex.
