Inleiding
JACHTOPZIENERSWONING "Casa Nova" in Engelse cottagestijl, behorend bij het landgoed Twickel. Het oorspronkelijk symmetrische huis uit 1878 is waarschijnlijk in de jaren tien van deze eeuw aan de westzijde uitgebreid met twee traveeën. De Engels georiënteerde decoraties op de windveren zijn identiek aan die van de kasteelboerderij.
Het is goed mogelijk dat de Engelse architect W.S. Weatherley ook betrokken was bij de verbouwing van de jachtopzienerswoning. Het pand dat nu als dubbel woonhuis in gebruik is, ligt in het bos langs het Bornsevoetpad. Dit is de as die vanuit het noordwesten op de voorgevel van het huis Twickel is geprojecteerd. Inwendig is de jachtopzienerswoning sterk gewijzigd.
Omschrijving Het pand heeft één bouwlaag onder een sterk overstekend riet gedekt samengesteld zadeldak. Het aan de achterzijde verlengde dakschild is met antracietgrijze en rode Hollandse pannen gedekt. De windveren zijn versierd met accoladevormige decoraties in Engelse stijl. De gevels van het oudste gedeelte (1878) zijn boven een plint van Bentheimer steen opgetrokken in bruine baksteen en de aanbouw uit het begin van deze eeuw in rode strengpers. Ter hoogte van de vijfzijdige erkerpartij met mezzanino aan de voorgevel (N) aan de achtergevel (Z) een risaliet onder uitkragende steekkap.
De hoeken van het huis en de erker zijn versierd met gepleisterde blokken. Alle vensters in het pand hebben een roedenverdeling. De entrees tot de woningen bevinden zich in de achtergevel. Dwars op het uiteinde van de nok aan de westzijde staat een grote gemetselde schoorsteen en op het schilddak boven de erker een ronde natuurstenen schoorsteenpijp.

GAMEKEEPER'S LODGE "Casa Nova" in English cottage style, belonging to the Twickel estate. Description
The property has one storey under a strongly projecting reed-thatched composite gabled roof. The roof slope extended at the rear is covered with anthracite-grey and red Dutch tiles. The corners of the house and the bay are decorated with plastered blocks. All windows in the property have glazing bars. The entrances to the residences are located in the rear facade.
