FARM 'BRINKATE' belonging to the country estate Twickel.

Located opposite the vegetable garden on the Twickelerlaan a farmhouse with upper storey from 1859. Standing on a sandstone plinth with masonry alternately built in horizontal bands of dark and light brown brick. The lintels above windows and doors and the brickwork in the front and rear facades are laid in the same light brown brick. The farmhouse has a curved gabled roof covered with tiles and the upper storey a gabled roof, of which the end facades have rendered gable tops. Simple wind vanes along the roof edges. A chimney stands on the ridge and in the eastern roof slope. In the front facade a door with fanlight and sash windows with glazing bars and shutters. Below the half-hipped roof a semicircular attic window with radial glazing bars. The rear facade has a stall door with threshold flanked by two stable doors, all under basket arch lintels. Between the doors two six-pane windows under semicircular arches. The farmhouse has acquired a museum function, for which the existing barns on the farmyard were modified such that they are of secondary importance for preservation purposes; one original barn has been extended.
