Omschrijving onderdeel 36:
ZONNEWIJZER VOOR ORANJERIE behorende tot de buitenplaats Twickel. Voor de oranjerie staat een monumentale horizontale bronzen zonnewijzer gemaakt in 1642 van Engelse maaksel (signatuur 'Anno Dom. 1642 Y( Sunny Time). De wijzerplaat is gegraveerd met in het midden een gezicht omringd door zonnestralen. Het vaasvormig voetstuk is in Franse kalksteen en fijn gedetailleerd staande op een ronde dekplaat van beton.
Waardering ZONNEWIJZER VOOR ORANJERIE van algemeen belang - vanwege de ouderdom; - vanwege de zeldzaamheidswaarde; - als karakteristiek onderdeel van een buitenplaats; - vanwege de ornamentele waarde.

SUNDIAL FOR ORANGERY belonging to the country estate Twickel. In front of the orangery stands a monumental horizontal bronze sundial made in 1642 of English manufacture (signature 'Anno Dom. 1642 Y( Sunny Time). The dial face is engraved with a face in the centre surrounded by sun rays. The vase-shaped pedestal is in French limestone and finely detailed standing on a round concrete base plate.
