Omschrijving bij onderdeel 21:
TUINVAZEN OP SOKKEL VOORPLAATS behorende tot de buitenplaats Twickel. Op de voorplaats staan twee grote monumentale gietijzeren vazen staande op hoge, eenvoudig geprofileerde vierkante sokkels van Bentheimer zandsteen. De vorm van de vaas is afgeleid van de Borghese-vaas; een wijde krater die uitloopt op een brede romp. De vazen zijn lichtgrijs beschilderd waardoor de firmanaam J.J.Ducel op de romp bijna onleesbaar is geworden. De naam komt ook eenmaal op de voet voor. De vazen en sokkels dateren uit het midden van de negentiende eeuw op basis van de catalogi en prijscouranten van Ducel uit 1850 en 1866.

GARDEN VASES ON PLINTH FORECOURT belonging to the country estate Twickel. On the forecourt stand two large monumental cast-iron vases standing on high, simply profiled square plinths of Bentheimer sandstone. The form of the vase is derived from the Borghese vase; a wide crater that tapers into a broad body. The vases are painted light grey which has made the company name J.J.Ducel on the body almost illegible. The name also appears once on the foot. The vases and plinths date from the middle of the nineteenth century based on Ducel's catalogues and price lists from 1850 and 1866.
