Omschrijving onderdeel 3:
NOORDELIJK BOUWHUIS behorende tot de buitenplaats Twickel. Aan het voorplein staat een 18de-eeuws bakstenen bouwhuis op L-vormige grondslag staande op een zandstenen plint onder een met grijze Oud-Hollandse pannen gedekte schilddak. Het bouwhuis sluit het voorplein aan de noordzijde af, de achtergevel (noord) en zijgevel (oost) rijzen direct uit de gracht op. De lange voorgevel heeft een symmetrisch geplaatste 17de-eeuwse ingangspartij, afkomstig van het oude bouwhuis; deze ingangspartij bestaat uit twee zandstenen pilasters met Ionisch kapitelen met een kroonlijst en een driehoekig fronton, die een houten paneeldeur omlijsten. Op de nok boven de ingangspartij staat een houten vierkante dakruiter met klok onder een met leien gedekt uitzwenkend tentdak waar een pinakel op staat. Aan weerszijden van de dakruiter twee vierkante schoorstenen afgewerkt met een geprofileerde natuurstenen lijst. Aan de linkerkant naast de ingangspartij zijn twee rondboogvensters met roedenverdeling en dagkanten geflankeerd door rondboogdeuren. Daarboven onder de daklijst vier vierkante meerruitsvensters. Hier was de brouwerij en in een latere periode van 1908 tot 1977 de wasserij gevestigd. Nu verbouwd tot woonhuis. Aan de rechterkant vier dubbele houten inrijdeuren. De kopzijde van de korte vleugel van het koetshuis, vanaf ca. 1905 in gebruik als garage en sinds 1979 in gebruik als archiefruimte, heeft twee (nieuwe) dubbele houten inrijdeuren waarachter een schuifbare raampartij met roedenverdeling, waarboven een dakkapel met rondvormig fronton. De westgevel heeft een dichtgemetselde oude ingangsdeur met natuurstenen stootstenen. In de achtergevel halfronde ramen en 18de-eeuwse schuifvensters waarvan een balkondeur met roedenverdeling en een ijzeren balkon ervoor. Restauratie in de periode 1978-79 en in 1985-86.

NORTHERN BUILDING HOUSE belonging to the country estate Twickel. On the forecourt stands an 18th-century brick building house on an L-shaped plan standing on a sandstone plinth beneath a hipped roof covered with grey Old Dutch tiles. The building house closes off the forecourt on the north side, the rear facade (north) and side facade (east) rise directly out of the moat. The long front facade has a symmetrically placed 17th-century entrance section, originating from the old building house; this entrance section consists of two sandstone pilasters with Ionic capitals with a cornice and a triangular pediment, which frame a wooden panelled door. On the ridge above the entrance section stands a wooden square roof lantern with bell beneath a sash-hinged tent roof covered with slate on which a pinnacle stands. On either side of the roof lantern two square chimneys finished with a moulded natural stone moulding. On the left side next to the entrance section are two round-arched windows with glazing bars and window edges flanked by round-arched doors. Above these beneath the roof edge four square multi-pane windows. Here the brewery was housed and in a later period from 1908 to 1977 the laundry was established. Now converted into a residential house. On the right side four double wooden carriage doors. The gable end of the short wing of the coach house, in use as a garage from approximately 1905 and since 1979 in use as archive space, has two (new) double wooden carriage doors behind which is a sliding window section with glazing bars, above which is a roof dormer with rounded pediment. The west facade has a built-up old entrance door with natural stone doorposts. In the rear facade half-round windows and 18th-century sash windows of which one is a balcony door with glazing bars and an iron balcony in front of it. Restoration in the period 1978-79 and in 1985-86.
