Inleiding
DUBBELE DIENSTWONING behorend bij het landgoed Twickel, gebouwd in 1925 naar ontwerp van architect H.A. Pothoven uit Amersfoort. De woning staat aan de Watertorenstraat tegenover een andere dubbele dienstwoning van Twickel (Mon.nr.: 507503)
Omschrijving
De dubbele dienstwoning is in bruine baksteen over één bouwlaag opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder een concaaf gewelfd schilddak met overstek en twee steekkappen gedekt door leien in Maasdekking. Aan de achterkant (N) zijn vier dakkapellen geplaatst, waarvan de middelste twee afgedekt zijn door een concaaf gewelfd zadeldakje en het gevelbeschot voorzien is van vakwerk. De andere twee dakkapellen, de twee aan de voorzijde en de twee in de zijgevels zijn voorzien van concaaf gewelfde schilddakjes. Op de nok drie schoorstenen met vertikaal en horizontaal siermetselwerk.
Op de begane grond zijn de raampartijen samengesteld uit vierruits vensters, gedeeltelijk behangen met Twickelluiken. Onder de steekkappen en in de acht dakkapellen zijn combinaties van zesruits vensters geplaatst. In de voorgevel (Z) zijn de vensters onder strekken met natuurstenen sluit- en aanzetstenen geplaatst. De hoekrisalieten, waarin aan de voorzijde de rondgesloten deuren geplaatst zijn, bevinden zich onder de steekkappen. De uitkragende kap tussen de risalieten wordt ondersteund door houten kolommetjes. In de zijgevels bevinden zich de deuren naar de tuin en kleinere vensters van hetzelfde type als in de voorgevel.

De dubbele dienstwoning is van cultuur-, architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang vanwege:

Description
The double service cottage is built in brown brick over one storey on a rectangular ground plan under a concave barrel-vaulted hipped roof with overhang and two gabled roof sections covered with slate in Maas covering. On the rear (N) four dormer windows have been placed, of which the middle two are covered by a concave barrel-vaulted saddle roof and the gable facing is provided with half-timbering. The other two dormers, the two on the front and the two in the side gables are provided with concave barrel-vaulted hipped roof sections. On the ridge three chimneys with vertical and horizontal decorative brickwork.
On the ground floor the window arrangements are composed of four-pane windows, partially hung with Twickel shutters. Beneath the gabled roof sections and in the eight dormer windows combinations of six-pane windows have been placed. In the front facade (S) the windows are placed beneath stone stretches with natural stone closing and setting stones. The corner projections, in which the rounded-off doors are placed at the front, are situated beneath the gabled roof sections.
